Southern Maine Window And Siding did the siding work for our condo complex including residential units and garages. We found the workmen personable, and OK with minor design changes. They worked through inclement weather asking only for some shelter which was provided by our garages. The company also held to the quoted price despite extended work needed to repair some rotted wood. All in all, we are satisfied with their work.

This is just a brief overview of our experience with Southern Maine Windows and Siding (www.windowsandsidingmaine.com) and their subcontractor Gendreau Roofing and Construction (www.mybighammer.com) as the full scope of this situation is unfathomable. On August 31, 2016 the last day work was performed on our house by either company, there was a full dumpster in our driveway, a large debris pile next to the dumpster, an improperly installed metal roof with screws along the gable ends and roofline (some of them with plastic washers the majority without), our entire house was stripped and a green foam board applied to 80% of the exterior, only half of the seams had been taped, exterior outlets and lights had been “removed”. Since then we had to hire a company to remove the debris pile as the second dumpster left empty. Our house and roof substrates both sustained damage due to water infiltration in multiple locations. We hired a company to apply vinyl siding to the exterior of the house at a higher price due to the additional repairs needed. An electrician had to be hired to replace all exterior lights and outlets as the previous ones were ripped out. We had to hire a lawyer, as several attempts to resolve this issue with the contractor were unanswered. Due to the pending litigation we hired an engineer to inspect the work performed and materials used and discovered not only did they not install the roof per manufacturer’s guidelines or per building code they installed an inferior gauge metal roof then contracted. Southern Maine Windows and Sidings, the CertainTeed 5 Star Contractor, word is not worth the paper their contract is written on. Gendreau Roofing and Construction, lacks the basic knowledge to properly install a metal roof and prepping a house for vinyl siding. Thankfully, we did not pay the full price but we paid too much for the work performed and continue to pay to fix the multitude of errors and poor construction.

its almost a year and still waiting for my extension window jambs,,as well as a replacement window i was promased,,i ordered 4 windows and beleave it or not ,,they couldnt even get that right,,i find that everything that was promised,,never came about,,they took 1800 dollars of mine and in return i got around 400 dollars worth of windows ,,like i say,there good at cashing your checks ,,but fail to keep there word
