Real Estate Litigation
It is quite common for there to be disputes between family members over issues related to inheritance of money and other property, particularly upon the death of a close family member. These disputes sometimes happen even in situations where the parties have done a careful job of planning. Mr. Glick has significant experience in the litigation in Probate & Family Court of matters involving estates, wills, trusts, accounts and other probate issues. He has had more than 30 years of litigation experience including numerous trials in the Trial Courts of the Commonwealth, including Probate & Family Court, Superior Court and District Court, and before both judges and juries. He also has substantial experience in the litigation of other types of civil matters, including business and consumer disputes, and real estate matters.
Real Estate Transactions
Mr. Glick has represented hundreds of buyers and sellers in residential real estate transactions. His goal in these matters is to fully protect the interest of his clients, and to do so in the most economically prudent way possible. He understands that the purchase or sale of a home is a very important decision for a person or family, and makes certain that his services are tailored to the specific needs of his clients and the particular nature of the transactions themselves.
Land Use and Zoning
Mr. Glick also has significant experience in the area of real estate law. In that capacity, he has acted as counsel for buyers and sellers in hundreds of home purchases. For approximately 10 years, he represented the City of Boston in complex commercial real estate transactions in which the City provided financing, with both federal and municipal funds, for residential developments that contained affordable rental and ownership units. In addition, Mr. Glick has significant experience in the area of land use and zoning law, and served for seven years on the Wayland Zoning Board of Appeals, two of which he served as chairman.

Mr. Glick is a well-seasoned probate litigator, having tried many probate cases, including disputes over wills, trusts and estates, and cases involving elder abuse. He has tried numerous cases in Probate & Family Court, Superior Court and District Court, before both judges and juries.
Wills
Mr. Glick's practice is focused primarily in the areas of elder law and probate litigation. He is experienced in the areas of preparation and defense of wills and trusts, and is involved in related planning issues. Well known in the areas of guardianship and conservatorship law and elder protective services law, Mr. Glick has taught other attorneys as part of the premier continuing legal education annual Conference in Guardianship Law, sponsored by the Suffolk Law School Advanced Legal Studies Program and the Massachusetts Guardianship Association. Among his long term clients, Mr. Glick has represented a large elder protective services agency in its administration and enforcement of the Elder Abuse Law in 18 communities in the Metrowest area of Boston, a well-respected geriatric care management company, several professional guardians and conservators, and a large social services agency that, among other things, provides guardianship and conservatorship services to elders who are at risk. He also represents and counsels individuals with regard to the care and planning for family members or friends who are disabled and/or incapacitated. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Massachusetts Guardianship Association.
Trusts
Mr. Glick has focused his practice on elders for many years, and is continuing to do so on an increasing basis, given the steady increase in the population of elders. He assists his clients in planning for disability or incapacity, utilizing vehicles such as Durable Powers of Attorney and Health Care Proxies, and in protecting their assets and putting their financial and property affairs in order through documents such as Wills and Trusts. Power of Attorney
Mr. Glick has significant experience with all of these issues, and works very closely with families, as well as geriatric care and medical professionals, to assess an incapacitated person's needs and level of competency in order to determine the best legal avenue to pursue to help that particular person. Mr. Glick also has significant experience in planning, particularly for a client's financial protection and potential future disability. He makes significant use of documents such as health care proxies and durable powers of attorney, so that if a client later becomes disabled or incapacitated, he or she may be able to fully avoid the expense and court oversight entailed in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. In addition, Mr. Glick assists people to put their personal and financial affairs in order and to protect their assets through documents such as wills and trusts. This type of careful planning is essential in assisting clients to be able to decide for themselves who their property will pass to, and allowing them to live their elder years in peace, comfort, and safety with the assistance of loving family members and friends whom they trust.
