From the outside, GOAT looks very appealing. Very modern, nicely lit. The inside is also very attractive, with a mix of a modern sleek bar with leather sofas and "goatskin" ottomans. I wasn't exactly sure what type of bar they were expecting with putting champagne buckets and flutes on each table, as it didn't fit in with the decor at all. The music was your basic city club/techno music, and the television screens on the walls had silhouettes of people dancing.
There is no cover charge to get in and their drink specials are well priced, as long as they pour you the right drink. I had asked for 2 kamikazes and got 2 cosmopolitans, which were not even very good. One of what I assumed was the owners was thoroughly enjoying himself, dancing around, opening up beer bottles with his teeth and entertaining his friends. Other than that, there was no activity. At one point, I counted more people on the television screens dancing than there was in the bar itself. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed. It felt like they were trying too hard. I think there's great potential there, but right now it seems a bit lacking.
