Dental Examination
Periodontal disease is diagnosed by your dentist or dental hygienist during a periodontal examination. This type of exam should always be part of your regular dental check-up.
X-rays
Orthodontic dentistry offers techniques which will realign the teeth and revitalize the smile. There are several treatments the orthodontist may use, depending on the results of panoramic x-rays, study models (bite impressions) and a thorough visual examination.
Oral Cancer Screening

Teeth Cleaning

Veneers
Once we remove the surface of your teeth, we will take another 3D image with our digital technology to begin designing your new porcelain veneers. The imaging and programming will allow us to accurately create the size and shape of your veneers for the best fit and appearance. After the dimensions are decided, a custom, natural looking shade will be chosen for your new smile. Then all you have to do is sit back and relax while your new custom veneers are created. Once created, your new veneers will be inserted and your new smile is ready to go.
Crowns
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations.
Bridges
This technique is different because it places the back implants at an angle to take maximum advantage of your existing bone. The procedure uses the frontal area of the jaw where the bone is most dense. Special implants were developed that could support the immediate fitting of replacement teeth. Not only do you benefit from the denseness of the bone, but we can place a longer implant, with a much less invasive procedure, and not have to enter into the sinus cavity on the upper arch. The procedure only takes a couple of hours under sedation and you will get a permanently fixed bridge set of teeth in just one day!

Root Canal Treatment
Dr. Bakhshoudeh (or Dr. Bobby as we like to call him) was born and raised in Long Island, NY where he received his undergraduate Bachelor's in Science at SUNY Stony Brook University. Dr. Bakhshoudeh graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in the top 20% of his class, recognized through induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon honor society. He was also the sole recipient of The Samuel Charles Miller Award, recognizing a high degree of knowledge and skill in Periodontology. He completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Woodhull Medical Center, training in all aspects of dentistry including implant placement and complex surgeries. Dr. Bakhshoudeh was then accepted into NYU's two-year Advanced Education Specialty Program in Endodontics. Dr. Bakhshoudeh has participated in numerous international outreach missions, providing dental care to the underserved communities of Ecuador, Mexico, and Nepal. He was awarded the Dentsply Resident Award for the presentation of his research at the annual session by the American Association of Endodontics. He is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics and an American Board Eligible Endodontist. In his free time, Dr. Bakhshoudeh enjoys reading, traveling, and the outdoors. His passion for health and fitness helped him complete the Ironman triathlon.

Periodontal Surgery
If the pockets do not heal after scaling and root planing, periodontal surgery may be needed to reduce pocket depths, making teeth easier to clean. Your dentist may also recommend that you see a Periodontist (specialist of the gums and supporting bone).
Deep Cleaning
If the disease has progressed to more advanced stages, a special periodontal cleaning called scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) will be recommended. It is usually done one quadrant of the mouth at a time while the area is numb. In this procedure, tartar, plaque, and toxins are removed from above and below the gum line ( scaling ) and rough spots on root surfaces are made smooth ( planing ). This procedure helps gum tissue to heal and pockets to shrink. Medications, special medicated mouth rinses, and an electric tooth brush may be recommended to help control infection and healing.

Dentures
This treatment is perfect for those with dentures or in need of full upper or lower restorations. It is also ideal for those who have hesitated getting dental implants because it required extensive bone grafting, which is time consuming and expensive. Oral Surgery
Roxana graduated from dental school in 1998. For the next four years she practiced dentistry in her home country of Peru. After moving to New York in 2001, she worked as a dental assistant - assisting with oral surgery in a variety of dental offices including Windsor Dental Center. Roxana realized at the time that she had a true love of dentistry and a desire to take her career to another level.
Jaw Surgery
During residency, Dr. Toth received specialized training and extensive experience in dental implant placement, bone grafting, sinus grafting, general anesthesia and sedation, wisdom teeth extraction, and infection and pathology management. Dr. Toth is also highly trained in TMJ dysfunction, orthognathic surgery, salivary gland surgery, and cosmetic facial injections. Additionally, he has broad experience in facial trauma surgery, including the management of facial lacerations and fractures of the jaw, nose, mid-face, and orbits. Dr. Toth has won numerous awards for his clinical and didactic work, lectured at several surgical and anesthesia symposiums, and is a published author regarding modern advancements in dental implant surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Dental Association.
Flap Surgery
Pocket elimination surgery – Pocket elimination surgery (also known as flap surgery) is a surgical treatment which can be performed to reduce the pocket size between the teeth and gums. Surgery on the jawbone is another option which serves to eliminate indentations in the bone which foster the colonization of bacteria.
Maxillofacial Surgery
Dr. Alexander Toth, DMD is originally from Latham in Upstate New York. After high school, he earned his is Bachelor of Science degree in Human Physiology from Boston University. He subsequently attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, where he was inducted into the OKU National Dental Honor Society and graduated at the top of his class, Magna Cum Laude. Following graduation, Dr. Toth went on to complete a four year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Woodhull Medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.

Dr. Tamakuwala was born and raised in India. As a young girl she dreamed of becoming a dentist and later reached her goal in 2005. She worked as a dentist in India for over one year before realizing another dream, moving to the United States and practicing as a dentist here. She graduated from New York University college of Dentistry with honors in Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr. Tamakuwala completed her residency at Montifore Medical Center, Bronx, NY. She is a member of American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr Jigisha, as she is affectionately refereed as, is very comforting with patients who are apprehensive about going to the dentist. Dr Jigisha recently completed a Full Mouth Reconstruction certification at NYU College of Dentistry. She is able to restore your entire smile.
