Overall
Good medicine and nice people

I have had nothing but good experiences at Loving hands Animal Hospital. I have an old cat with kidney failure who has been in and out of the hospital over the past two years. Dr Bunning has saved the cat each time and has always given me a break with the bill as she knows I can't afford too much. She is very caring and I believe she would go out of her way to help any animal, or any person for that matter. If I have a problem I can always get in touch with her and she always has good advice and a friendly word of encouragement for me

Thanks to Dr Bunning I believe my cat still has quality of life. The staff are friendly and helpful and I think it is a great place to take your pet.

Overall
Great Hospital

My cat was recently diagnosed with Diabetes at Loving Hands Animal Hospital.

Dr Bunning explained the disease at great length to me and made me optimistic about my cat's future.

Luckily my cat had not become ketotic so Dr Bunning was able to save him and make him feel so much better. He used to just sit and wobble at the water bowl, but now he is active again and happy and is eating well.

I was really impressed when Dr Bunning offered to do some research on the computer for me and she compared the ingredients of the different store brand cat foods to find the most suitable for his condition - because he wont eat the prescriptions diet. Who does that?!! I have never met another doctor who goes out of her way like Dr Bunning.

The staff, nurses and receptionist are so caring and friendly, and the doctor explains everything before she does it to make sure I fully understand what is needed.

There is a good chance that my cat may not need insulin for the rest of him life, and Dr Bunning showed me at great lengths how to test the blood glucose at home to save me money adn to be on top of his disease.

A big thumbs up!!!

Will steal from you!!

There was an incident where My husband & I had instructed our dog walker to bring our pets to Loving Hands Animal Hospital. They were to receive general vaccinations as scheduled via telephone. When it was time to retrieve our pets there was a whopper of a bill & low and behold for procedures that were NEVER authorized by neither of us. This is really a situation where when I spoke to Dr.Bunning the acting Dvm at Loving Hands she had seen no error in her ways or methods. As my husband and I are physicians ourselves I couldn't imagine how we could manage to pull that off with a client or even an insurance company to run several tests and do procedures when the patient only came in as an out patient for a re-check on a preexisting ailment and we go ahead and remove limbs and administer several procedures without the need of an emergency I think that would be the means for a civil case in court. Such actions are inexcusable and she was oblivious to where I was coming from and was not cooperative in any way. For this to be a business owner I can't really see how someone can be so dishonest and still intend to keep their business!

I am sorry that you feel this way about the care your pets received at Loving Hands Animal Hospital. Dogs and cats are considered seniors when they reach the age of seven, and it is part of our routine annual exam to carry out blood tests that test for common aging disorders, diseases, and other smoldering ailments which may not show up with clinic signs until it is too late. When diseases like Diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and chronic renal disease, to mention just a few, go undetected they can cause irreversible blindness, neuropathies, heart failure, as well as other complications. Pets cannot tell us when they are feeling a little 'strange', and the owner may not notice any subtle changes in behavior, especially when we are working full time jobs and trying to get the kids off to bed and off to school. This is why we hold so much importance to the pets annual exam and annual blood work, to give us an idea of the animal's general health. In a response to your review, I have to remind you that one of your pets is very old, blind, wobbly and had lost a considerable amount of weight since I had seen her the previous year. I recommended blood work to the adult who brought your pets in for their annual exam, whom I later found out was the nanny, and she consented. This lady I naturally had presumed was the owner and not a member of your staff. I also carried out blood work on your second middle-aged pet, as had been carried out for the past three years in a row as part of his routine annual exam. On speaking with you the following day, after I had already received the blood work results from the lab, I discovered that you had not wanted blood work on either pet and wanted a refund. When I told you that the results showed that your oldest pet was seriously ill and needed medical care, you changed your mind and only wanted a refund of the blood work from the middle-aged pet. As I had already paid the laboratory for the blood tests I did not feel that it was a fair request, however I agreed to apply credit to your account equal to the one set of blood work, despite the fact that your nanny had OK'd it when she brought the pets into the clinic. Above all, I sincerely hope you took my recommendations and sought further medical care for your older pet. Had you brought your pets in yourself at the very beginning you could have made an educated decision on what tests you would have liked carried out, and I would have been happy to explain the benefits of testing. Instead you were already angry when we spoke the next day on the phone and it is very difficult to reason with an angry person. As my mother used to say, "If you want anything done properly you have to do it yourself" and I think that was the lesson learned here from your experience.

Too many issues

I am a friend of a German man & his family, They missed their flight & money due to Dr.Bunnings not having enough sense to call. We spoke of this and I shared my story with him because mine was she had burnt my baby. My dog was to get an ear surgery on both ears & when I got him back their were burns from a heating pad with blisters etc that I think didn't come from one little mass removal! I don't recommend her because she doesn't realize some of her clients know one another & shared all the experiences that make you SURE to never return. She can't even show up on time to an appointment, I can't tell you HOW many times I had to reschedule! DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE_ THIS IS NOT LOVING HANDS!!
