If you are considering using Exit Central Reality as a property management company either as renter or home owner...think again.
The scam is to withhold as much of the security as possible even using unscrupulous excuses. As a renter, I took pride in turning over a home at the same or near the same condition as I received it. Exit Reality, specifically Nancy Myers the agent, decided to charge $165 to "clean up" approximately 10 square feet of the patio garden bed, a 20 minute job in the worst case scenario. She also charge to clean an oven that was immediately replaced by the new tenants. She charged to repair the microwave fan shroud which I had told her was broke 2 years prior. I was the renter in this house for 3 years and looked on the home as if it were my own home. Unbelievable!
I have heard that this is a common scam among property management companies in this area, but I was wrongfully assumed that Exit Realty, and Nancy Myers were above board.
My advice, before handing over the security deposit to your property management company, get in writing exactly every item that can be charged again you.
