Forest Hills Center provides rehabilitation services through physical, occupational and speech therapies to get our patients back on track. Our wound care services are administered by a specialized physician, and we also offer dietary and nutrition services. Dr. Douglas Scharre is our neurologist based out of Ohio State University and has provided behavior care since 1994.
Pediatric Care
Shari Villafane, a board-certified nurse practitioner, has lived in the Cleveland area for thirteen years. She graduated with her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018 from Chamberlain University. Shari’s clinical rotations were spent in a family practice, a pediatrics’ office, and in an urgent care. Shari has been practicing Urology for two and a half years. Shari has more than ten years of experience in the medical field. Prior to urology, Shari worked in Women’s health for 4 years as nurse and sent the time as a member of the research team. Shari also spent time as a nurse in the float pool.

Jodi Newsome is a Nurse Practitioner certified with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) since September 2011. Jodi graduated June 2011 from the University of Cincinnati’s with her master’s degree in nursing with a focus in acute care. Jodi has a background in Cardiac health and Primary care. She became wound care certified in March 2012 and has worked in the field of wound care and primary care since. Jodi works as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on Holistic Wound Care with Wound Care Consultants. Jodi takes great pride in her occupation and gives care for each patient as if they were her own family member.

Kenneth Arsham M.D was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University, in Washington D.C in 1979 and completed a General Surgery residency and Plastic Surgery fellowship at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Post-operative or not, wounds can be difficult to treat at home appropriately. Patients can come to one of Embassy Healthcare’s facilities for wound care after leaving the hospital to ensure proper treatment and avoid infection.

Physical Therapy helps increase strength, balance and mobility while reducing pain and discomfort. A quality physical therapy program can help people return to regular activity, and is necessary before introducing exercise programs after an injury. Occupational Therapy helps people perform everyday activities such as feeding and dressing. We teach transferring and positioning techniques to help participants live safely and independently. We also teach necessary home skills like doing the laundry, cooking and using the microwave. There’s also a caregiver education component to help families safely assist their loved ones.

Dr. Marc A. Berkowitz started practicing Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in the greater Cleveland area in 2007. Dr. Berkowitz has special interests in Wound Care, Reconstructive Foot Surgery, Sports Medicine and Diabetic Foot Care. Dr. Berkowitz graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 2004 where he served as an adjunct clinical faculty member. He completed a three year surgical foot and ankle residency at University Hospitals Health System/Richmond Heights where he served as a clinical attending. During his post-graduate residency, Dr. Berkowitz received specialized training in Pediatric Lower Extremity Surgery in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Berkowitz currently owns and operates Wound Care Consultants LLC, a multi-specialty company composed of physicians and nurse practitioners that render conservative and invasive care to patients residing in post-acute type facilities. Dr. Berkowitz is double American Board Certified in Podiatric Medicine and Wound Healing.
