This place is, unfortunately, not a good bike shop. I very much want to support a local, independent shop. But I will not go to this place again. I have been here a number of times, but today's visit was my last.



I just purchased a greenfield kickstand (KS2). The guy at the counter yelled back to another guy and asked how much? He said, "$14.95." Then the back room guy continued, "just call it $15 because you have to do tax if you print a receipt." So the front guy tells me: "we'll make it $15."



I paid him cash and he went back to vacuuming. I looked around the store and also noticed that there were very few price tags listed on anything.



Now that I'm home I looked up the price of a Greenfield KS2 kickstand and most prices--even at nearby brick and mortar stores are $8. I don't mind a place making a profit--but I believe I've been ripped off.



I don't know how this place continues to be in operation--but perhaps by not collecting sales tax and charging twice as much for a kickstand--they skim by.



I will never go here again and I will also share my experience with other bikers. I'm sad that this local shop may not make it--but these are not the features of a shop that will be successful. I wonder if they realize that making $7 on a kickstand would have such an effect...



I'll go a bit farther next time to the ferndale bike shop. you should too!

My experience with this store and the owner left a very bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommend doing business with this store or the owner, nor will I ever return for service. I will not go into detail of my experience other than I traded in two used bicycles. Then the price quoted to me to purchase two new bikes was changed on me three times, and the last time was without my knowledge. The owner got away with it by not itemizing our transaction on the receipt. I did not notice the over charge until later that evening once I did the math and the owner has changed his story on me several times and refuses to give me back the money he swindled from me. I will never return to this store and would warn anyone from doing the same. I have since made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The owners response was more lies and twisted stories and attacking me personally which I find to be very unprofessional. I would advise any one who has a complaint with this store and the owner to also file a complaint with the BBB to show this mans pattern of swindling and taking advantage of people, as so stated by other peoples negative reviews on yelps web site.

Brought in bike needing new tires and tubes. They repaired and performed mini-overhaul, at a fair price, and same day service. I would highly recommend this business.

This guy was so rude to me. He had no idea what he was doing. I felt like I was in a trash heap.

This is definitely the place to go for fast, friendly service and repairs. Prices are very reasonable and my bike was fixed while I waited. I had recently been to a more expensive shop in town for repairs and was dissatisfied with the lack of attention I and my bike were given. I will definitely go back to Michigan Bicycle!
