Overall

Best Buy in Emeryville is AWFUL. I'd give a zero-star rating, if it were an option.

Don't even walk through the door. It's a mistake.

I went there to purchase a television. Looked at all of them... finally found one that looked good for the price. It was discounted because it was the floor model. No problem... I can see it hanging right there on the wall, it looks fine. And I'll save some $ because it's out of the box. As soon as I tell the guy that I want *that* one, he says "OK, I'll have to check if I can find the other parts for it in back."

Wait.

Wait.

Wait.

Wait.

"Oh yeah, I couldn't find any of the other parts for it." No cords, or manual, or remote, or anything else that normally comes with it. "But the manager says there's this other TV for the same price [which is neither a good deal nor good quality], or we can give you a $15 credit towards the purchase of one of the accessories."

Classic BAIT & SWITCH -- put forward a good deal (the Bait), but then, suddenly, you don't have it any more. In it's place, offer a lesser alternative (the Switch) for the same price.

THIEVES & LIARS.

I suggested to them that, since these important regularly-included items have mysteriously gone missing, then they should either place an order for them, or they should further reduce the price to reflect not only the open-box status, but also the multiple-missing-items status. Surprise, Surprise... I'm told that neither of those is an option! They won't be ordering replacements for the missing items, nor will they offer any meaningful discount on the missing items. (Hmmm... Could it be that you already had this planned out?)

"But, really, sir, you should take a look at the other [inferior] TV we have in stock at the same price. There are a whole bunch of them on the shelf right over there."

Finally, I spoke with the store manager. He was even worse. Just lied right to my face, claiming they had no idea that the parts had gone missing... they just found out... but wouldn't order more. Couldn't. He knew all along. They all did. It's just their fraudulent game of Bait & Switch that they play every single day. And the truth is, lots of people fall for it, or at least, put up with it.

I came into the store fully intending to spend hundreds of dollars on a television. Instead, I was treated like a rube that would fall for their transparent fraud. So, I bought nothing from them.

By the end of my distasteful interaction with him, I told him straight up that what he was doing was dishonest, unethical, and probably illegal... that I was disgusted with the whole of it, and that I would quite certainly never enter another Best Buy in my life.

Overall
horrible expirience

So I went to the bestbuy in emeryville a week or so before christmas to buy a video game. 1st thing I noticed was a huge pile of trash near an overflowing trash can by the front door. Second thing I noticed was how dirty and unorganized the shelves were. Good luck find the video game you want on those shelves.. Nothing was where it was suppose to be so I ask this supervisor for help and he says someone will be right with me. I ask somebody else for help and he says to ask the employee in the video game isle. I finally find the video game employee and ask him for help and he said they had more in the back and that he'd be right back. I waited for 15 or 20 min looking pissed off while bestbuy employees notice my frustration and walk right on by not caring. I asked a few more times and eventually gave up on the game I came out to emeryville for and just bought some minor gifts for others around the store. The check out isle wasn't fun either. I'm not sure if rude is the right word to describe the lady who rang me up, dead is probally a better choice of words. I couldn't hear this lady at all. She mumbled every word. It was as if she just smoked a barrel of opium before I walked up. All in all, horrible horrible expirience. I never thought a bad day a bestbuy could tick me off so much, needless to say, I'll never go back to bestbuy again
