Cinder's Mr Charcoal Sandwiches

In late March we stopped at Cinders for a plank of haddock. My wife had a 1/4 lb cinders classic. I haven't had the haddock in a year and so was looking forward to enjoying it. I noticed the owners brother was working and said hi. He cooks. I forgot to order my side dish of butter that I dip my fish into. I asked our waitress, Jevalia, to get me some butter. She looks at me weird and said the owners brother wants to talk to me. He brings out the dish of melted butter and then sais to me You could die tommorrow.

was my answer back.

A fat guy like you could be laying on the floor of this restaurant dead from eating too much butter.

I was taken aback.

when they used the bone crusher to open my chest cavity, it was painful.

He opened his shirt to reveal a large sca, see!



;what does that have to do with butter? I asked.

You are a fat guy who is going to die if you do not stop eating fish with butter.

I said "Is this part of the floor show?

He tossed the butter dish on the table and walked away.

Food is excellent. Service is below average for a sit down restaurant. Many times waitress, dark hair, older - mid 30's,, was chatting instead of attending to our needs. She acted like we were an inconvenience. Maybe, sitting at the ounter is what made her mad, not sure. It's an experience.

Lee Engleman knows how to treat people right. We have had 175 meals or more in his dining rooms and enjoyed every one. His staff are professionals who go out of their way to take care of you. The sandwhiches are always delightful and if it doesn't taste right, just ask for an adjustment and it is done. I am surprised he doesn't run all of the Wisconsin Cinders (Appleton, Mayville) restaurants as they could take a hint from him as to how to run a restaurant.
