I wish all Vets were like him. In June 2015 my daughters boyfriend's boxer had a severe allergic reaction to a sting. Fearing the worse based on the symptoms presented, we tried to find an after hours vet clinic for emergency services with no results until we found Dr. Hines. . We traveled 45 minutes forthe emergency visit. This man took the time to not only treat our dog but miss his family dinner to do so. Not to mention taking another emergency phone call from an elderly gentleman who couldn't afford to pay for treatment for his dog in distress. Dr. Hines spoke with him and promised to call him right back after our emergency and convinced him he would help while still delaying his family dinner. He said, "if I dont help him who would". This man doesn't know how much he inspired me to continue to make a difference in others lives. don't misunderstand his sense of humor. He is truly a unique and special person in the work he does. With great respect,
Retired Chicago Police Detective.

Dr Hines answered the phone on a Saturday afternoon - as was a very distraught new parent of a fur baby that wriggled out of my hand and fell to the asphalt she was only 6 weeks old - this happened as we were walking to our neighbors Marlyiss & George - we were new to the area we had no idea where to go for help. Their office was the first one in our search. Crying through the call and all the way driving to his office as my daughter held our little darling. He was extremely understanding, kind and pleasant making the time on a busy summer weekend to see her and bandage our poor baby up. He offered words of encouragement and said how this will get better and she will heal well, she broke her little hind leg. Since then, we have trusted our only fur baby with him and have had many things happen and will trust no other vet or veterinery service. They are knowledgeable and walk you through every thing so there are never any surprises. We appreciate having them around and only hope as our fur baby gets older they will be there for her and us.

I came across Dr. Hines on a late Sunday afternoon after my dog Diamond was hit by a car. She crawled back to the house and I knew it was bad. I was devastated to say the least. After calling my primary vet here in Montello I was told she could not help I should call Madison. I honestly didn't think I had time to drive to Madison and that was after I had to locate an emergency vet.
A friend of mine heard about my dog and recommended I call Dr. Hines. I called him crying and at first I didn't think that he would see her as he was suffering with a very bad back injury and could hardly move. However hearing how upset I was he agreed to meet me at the closed office. When I got there the poor man could barely move so I had to do all the lifting and shifting of my dog on the table. I didn't care as long as he was helping my poor baby. Turned out she had dislocated her hip and had some pretty bad scrapes and bruises but was going to be alright.
I now take all my animals to see him. I think of him as an angel and I will forever be grateful that he came in for my Diamond.
I recommend him every time someone asks where to take their animals. He is kind, gentle and you can tell he really loves animals.
He is NOT creepy, crazy or condescending and has NEVER made me feel uncomfortable.
So I thank God for Doctor Hines and wish there were more vets out there like him.

They worked so well Jade. She got shots and never even noticed. They were so patient with her when trimming her nails, and they are reasonable for prices. So glad I decided to go there!

While sitting in the waiting room waiting to receive the results to a blood test, the primary vet (a wee-little man with an unsightly mustache) sits down next to me and begins explaining to me in a sad, pitiful tone, as if he were speaking to a toddler, how Obama is taking the rich people's money and now the poor rich people don't have anything to donate to the humane societies.

Other than the fact that the vet was a creepy, crazy, condescending man who made me feel highly uncomfortable, everything was great. The women working there all seemed friendly and professional and the results to the blood test were so fast that I was informed of them before I could hustle out of there.

Dr Hines is not a great dr but...

Dr Hines is not a great dr but for the area I guess he's better than the others. By default I go here....for lack of anywhere better. His new vet, however seems bright and honest. I trust her and like her.
