Medical Weight Loss
Dr. Laws has conducted research on diabetes treatment and prevention, gender differences in cholesterol metabolism, and on the roles of weight loss and exercise in optimal health. She has published over 50 scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters, and she co-edited a ground-breaking book on insulin resistance. Primary Care
You don’t need to be a member of Dr. Laws’ Concierge Medicine Practice to see her for diabetes subspecialty care. Simply ask your primary care doctor to refer you.
Emergency Care
She charges a minimum monthly fee of $700 for her services. Home visit services only are an additional fee. This fee covers all your care by Dr. Laws, including office visits, visits by her to you in the emergency room or hospital, telephone calls and emails as well as her contacts with your sub-specialists.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Laws is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and manages all aspects of the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases and medical problems.

Mental Health
Although Dr. Laws is not a practitioner of alternative medicine, she believes it provides tools for wellbeing and refers patients to experts in mindfulness meditation, tai chi, and acupuncture for a variety of problems. She works closely with a number of mental health care providers in the area to coordinate your psychological and psychiatric care.

An expert in the management of pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes, Dr. Laws fully integrates specialized diabetes care with general medical care for one-stop visits, eliminating the need for specialist appointments. She also is expert in the management of osteoporosis, hypothyroidism, and hormone health for both men and women.

Your other medical expenses -- fees for laboratory tests, imaging studies (X-ray, MRI, CT, etc.), sub-specialty visits, hospitalizations -- are covered by your insurance as usual. Insurance and Medicare do not cover Dr. Laws’ monthly fee, but it is sometimes paid at least in part by health savings accounts and/or flexible spending accounts. Dr. Laws is happy to discuss the financial considerations of a concierge practice.
