Houston Oaks Golf Course

course is in great shape, very friendly staff and we played in under 4 hours, greens were spectacular, love the new rates too

This used to be one of the best courses in the Bluegrass and I hope it will be again some day. New ownership has taken this course over with no prior golf knowledge and it shows. Greens are in terrible shape with bare spots and 6inch octagon patches everywhere. I have heard multiple disappointing stories on the clubhouse staff. From not honoring rain checks to verbally assaulting patrons for slow play on a wide open course. There is also a new rule that golf carts must be in by 8:15pm no matter if you paid and it does not get dark until 9pm. They are not polite about this. I highly recommend one of the Lexington Public Courses - Cherry Blossom- or the Bull at this point. Hopefully this course will be great again some day!
