Have owned my home in the city for 2 years. Now being told, that although I'm honest City route, I have to put a mailbox up on the street. No one else on my street has a mailbox, they get to the door delivery. This house has also always gotten to the door delivery. I'm told it's because of the change of ownership. But then I pointed out that my next door neighbor, who has only owned their home for 6 months, did not get asked to put up a mailbox. It was then suggested that because I have a long driveway, the longest one on my street, perhaps that's why I had to put up a mailbox. Sounds discriminatory to me. Not at all pleased and will be reviewing this with the postmaster in the near future. I did ask to see the postmaster but instead only saw the supervisor. My husband who has worked for the USPS for 19 years in another state agrees with my impression that this is discriminatory.

The new mail carrier has misdelivered my mail plus an expensive package and now he is shoving my large envelopes (a collectors item) into a small mailbox instead of walking to my front door for delivery, as the previous carriers did. I spoke with the young boy carrier about the misdelivered mail and he didn't even know the name of my street. (Volunteer, Lone Oak RD) Seriously? Education? Maybe a talk with the postal superiors is warranted.
