The American Veterinary Dental Society recommends a full dental cleaning every six months for your pet, just the same as your dentist recommends for you. Still, imagine what that cleaning procedure would be like for you if you did not brush your teeth at all between dental visits.
Vaccination
When planning a trip with your pet, ensuring they have the required health certificate is essential for a smooth journey. A pet health certificate is a document that verifies your pet's health status and vaccination records. It is often required by airlines and for interstate and international travel. Our veterinary team is here to guide you through the process, ensuring all necessary requirements are met so you and your pet can travel safely and stress-free.
Nutritional Counseling
Having a dog neutered does not cause weight gain, but the overall activity level of the dog may decline after surgery. This can be dealt with by taking your pet on an extra walk, or giving him extra play time in the yard.
Comprehensive Examination
An exam by the veterinarian is one of the most important things you can do for your pet. We recommend that your pet have this done twice a year. Because pets age very quickly, six months of time to them would be the equivalent to three to four years to us. They also cannot speak and naturally tend to hide pain, so your pet cannot tell you if they have been feeling unwell or out of sorts. A physical exam can tell us a lot about the health and well being of your pet.
We use Adam's flea and tick shampoo, unless another shampoo is requested. A nail trim can be added upon request for a fee of $23.07 plus tax.
Pain Management
Whether your pet has undergone surgery, has been injured, or has chronic pain, cold laser therapy is an excellent way to give your pet pain relief and speed the healing process. Pet laser therapy can be used for treating a large number of conditions, both temporary (acute) and long-term (chronic).
Electrocardiography involves placing electrodes on your dog or cat and measuring the electrical activity of their heart. We use ECG to look for pet issues such as hypertension, heart failure and arrhythmias, heart murmurs, dilated cardiomyopathy and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Our doctors are highly qualified to perform all aspects of veterinary surgery—from soft-tissue surgery such as a routine spay or neuter to more advance orthopedic surgery to repair your pet's torn ACL.
Spaying and Neutering
During her free time, Michaela can be found volunteering at spay and neuter projects and her local fair.
We recommend a yearly exam on all exotics. Yearly blood work is also recommended for some exotics, especially as they approach their senior years. Pearland Pet Health Center also has the capability to hospitalize and do some surgery on most exotics.
