Monterey Mexican Grill

Not exceptionally great, but not bad, either. I would return, but would not go out of my way. Beef fajitas were plentiful and delicious. Cheese enchiladas were good, but I like them with onions in the cheese for a little zip. Prices quite reasonable. Once you've eaten in San Antonio, Texas, nothing really compares.

I am writing this due to it ruined my birthday. My girlfriend took me here to have a wonderful birthday dinner. the food and drinks were great. My girlfriend told the waitress (her name was KK) it was my birthday and wanted the sombrao thing for me. Well after we had dinner (and after paying the bill) we went out on the padio to have a smoke and finish our drinks the staff came out with the hat and other things. Right after the hat was put on my head the waitress smashed a plate of whipped cream in my face. It went every where. I was shocked that they did this. The waitress then laughed took my glasses to try and clean them but my girlfriend had to go to the kitchen and get a rag to clean my face and cloths off. We both were in total shock. My girlfriend even asked if they were crazy or something for this stunt but was told "it does not seem to bothers when this is done. Other patrons that were out there could not believe what had just happened and told us so. If this is the way you all operate that place it is wrong. This was very unprofessional from any establishment. It ruined the evening for both of us. Our evening ended because we had to clear across town to change cloths and get the whipped cream smell off my face. I have been to this place many times and in pensacola for many years and this was the worst experiance ever.

The food, ambience and the staff were amazing. Friendly, efficient staff, fantastic aromas and great food. Four of us dined here the last time, all had different choices and all of us were sated beyond comfortable, think we need t wear elastic waist pants when we eat here.
