Highland Community Hospital

Worst experience I’ve ever had with an emergency room. My youngest brother is mentally challenged and has been receiving medications from doctors at this hospital that he then used to self harm himself. He harmed himself so badly that he had to be admitted to the ICU last week. He was discharged with more drugs that he has further abused and now has been readmitted to this hospital. This all is just two weeks after he was taken through their ER for suicidal thoughts and transferred to Pine Grove. I tried to call the ER last night to let the ER doctor on call know what is happening. He was too “busy” to speak to me. The nurse refused to even tell me the name of the ER doctor. Then my husband, a surgeon, called trying to speak to the doctor to relay this important information and was told it is a HIPPA violation, which I know isn’t true as I am certified in HIPPA and am very familiar with the rules and regulations. I tried calling again today and got transferred to several different people who still wouldn’t even tell me who was the ER physician. This is completely unacceptable and disturbing since he’s found a way to harm himself and I don’t feel that they care at all. My brother has two children who would be so hurt if my brother dies but again, they didn’t seem to care at all. He’s been admitted to the hospital with fluid in his lungs apparently (according to my other brother who got someone to talk to him). I plan to file a formal complaint and will be calling the CEO of the hospital tomorrow. If I have to, I will hire a lawyers and go to the news stations. I’m thoroughly disgusted with their seeming lack of interest in the welfare of my brother.

My son went in with severe stomach pain.He was seen immediately.He had his gallbladder surgery and spent one night and two days in the hospital.This was the best hospital I have ever gone to.The staff was amazing.Big thanks to the lovely lady at the front desk.She had my son in the back before I parked the car and came in.I was alone with my son and 2 small children 3 & 6 .She gave them paper and colors and checked on my son for me while I sat with the children.Thankful for this hospital :-) !!!!!

I was really surprised with how fast they got my friend admitted and seen..
it was a total of five hours from admitting and taking his cat scan and admitting to a room.. believ it or not thats fast! ! real fast
