My oven broke and I had heard that "All Appliance" was very helpful, so I Googled "All Appliance" and dialed the number that I found. I called at 9:14PM on a Friday night (Dec 28). I was glad that the owner answered the phone that late in the evening, and he agreed to come to my house the following Sunday. Very helpful, I thought.

He came to my house as planned on Dec 30. He looked at my oven for about 5 minutes and told me I would need a specialized part. The part was so specialized, in fact, that no local stores would even carry it. It had to be special ordered and would likely take a week or so to arrive. I don't know anything about specialized appliance parts, so this sounded reasonable to me. I was charged $60 for the house call (check number 555), which was cashed one day later.

I sent an email 9 days after he told me he would order the part. No response.

I left then left voicemails starting 11 days after the house call, on the following days (Jan 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21). 8 voicemails, no responses. I had been without an oven for 23 days at this point.

I then found another appliance repairman who looked at my oven and found it had the same problem which All Appliance thought it had. The new repairman drove 10 blocks down the street and bought the necessary part. It wasn't special or unique at all, and there was no need for him to special order the part. The oven was fixed about an hour later. And he charged $50 for labor to actually fix the oven, as opposed to $60 to do nothing.

The reason I bought an Angie's List subscription was to write this review. I wish I had bought it earlier in order to read the only other review of this "company". He neglected to ask what my model number was (1.5 yr old front-load dryer) when I made the appointment. He scheduled for Sat, showed up late, and did not have the proper belt for my model. He couldn't get one on a Sat, said he'd be back on Monday (I worked from home that day). He did not get the belt that day, and had to get it the following day--which meant I had to get permission to work from home a 2nd day. It sounded like a gorilla was banging around a drum set in my basement. He had no idea how to even get the top off of my model. Once he figured that out, he had to call tech support to find out how to replace the belt. Again, it sounded like hellfire from my basement. His original quote was $145--but charged my $175 "because the belt was more expensive". Well, I checked the price online later--he lied--the belt was on par with belts for all other front-load dryer models. Then, when I went to dry the clothes I had waited 2 weeks to wash, the dryer started clanking. He not only forgot to put the top on and screw it back into place, but the screws were nowhere to be found! I called him (Bill, by the way) only to find out that they were in his pocket. I told him to drop them in my mailbox and I'd finish the $175 job myself. That was Tues. Another call to him revealed that he "put them in a mailbox of a house on the wrong street!) It is now Friday, and after speaking to him for 2 more days, he will not answer calls to either of his business numbers, and my wet clothes were re-washed and taken to a laundrymat to dry.

Bill, I hope you log onto this site and try to refute anything I've said! Bring the screws back to my house so I can use the dryer I paid you $30 over your quote to repair!!! It is theft!!!

I have called the BBB to get directions to file a complaint with them (which will happen next Tues) and am also going to the magistrate to get my money back (of yea, he cashed my check immediately). UNLESS YOU NEED TO THROW MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN, DO NOT EVER CALL THIS SO-CALLED REPAIRMAN!!!

Man I wish I would have read these reviews before calling this clown!! I had an issue with my dryer over a month ago, so I called Bill and he tells me he'll be over in an hour. It was on a Saturday, so I was pretty happy. About an hour later he pulls up to my house in a small soccer-mom SUV (first red flag), grabs his tool belt and comes in to check it out. I explained to him the problem again and he started messing around with the buttons. I thought he was joking at first, but I had to show him HOW TO TURN THE DRYER ON at least 2 or 3 times (second red flag), seriously? How can one fix something when they can't even figure out how to start it? After getting the hang of the whole start/stop thing, he proceeds to unscrew and take apart the dryer. Following 5 to 10 minutes of confusion and head scratching, he points at the most expensive part on the dryer and tells me he's 90% sure that it is the problem and that the total to replace it is going to be around $300-$350, but if he's wrong, I can't return the new part and get my money back. I tell him that's fine, whatever he has to do to fix it. As I write out a $60 check to him he tells me that if his supplier has the part in stock he'd be back on Tuesday, and if not, it would take a week to come in. Either way, he was going to let me know on Monday (he left my dryer totally dismantled by the way). So a week goes by, no word from good old Bill. He did have time to cash the check I wrote him though. I call him a few times from my house number (the number I gave him), no answer. A few days later, I call him from my cell number (the number he didn't have) and he finally picked up!! I asked him what the deal was and he said "oh this isn't the phone number you gave me, uhhh the part should have been in already, uhhhh I wonder why my supplier hasn't called me, ummm let me call them and I'll call you back." I never heard from Bill again. Moral of this story: Bill Doyle is a FRAUD. If he can't figure out your appliance problem by looking at the owners manual, he will take your $60 and run. He screens his phone calls and will not answer the number you gave him. I can't even imagine how many people (who actually make an HONEST living) he has taken advantage of over all these years. Save your time, money, and aggravation and do not call this guy. Bill, I'm sorry to keep bothering you, but I'm going to continue calling until I find out where my part is! Talk to you soon!!!

If you would've asked me in August 2013, I would've highly recommended this company. They came out quickly and repaired my oven for a reasonable price.

I began having an issue again (something that we think we may have accidentally done - not necessarily that their prior service was bad) and asked them to come service it again. At first I was told yes then when I tried to confirm the appointment they asked what they were coming for (I was communicating through email). They asked that I call them. My husband called and left a message, I called that evening and left a message. I also sent an email stating that we had both left him a message. I never received a response to the email nor the phone messages. I don't know if they thought we would complain if the same part went bad after only a few months, but had he had the courtesy of returning my call, I could've explained what we had done that may have broken something. Based on the lack of response to multiple calls and emails, I would not recommend this company.

Not quite sure how some people received such good service from this company, but our experience with them and Mr. Doyle were horrible. He did very much as many of the reviews stated to us regarding our gas cooktop that is in need of repair. He was on time for the initial appointment, looked at the stove for 15 minutes and informed me it is a 60.00 service charge and he would order the part needed for the cooktop. Mr. Doyle said it would be in after a few days and set up an appointment to complete the repair. That was almost a month ago and my husband and I have made several phone calls and left messages without any return call back!!!!! My husband finally reached him after about 10 attempts and he assured us he had the part and would be out to repair it. Well, Mr.Doyle never did come for the appointment!!!! He is just like so many others posted on here....a SCAM artist!!!! He collected the service fee and never returns!!!! I am also reporting to the BBB......stay clear of this company!!!!!!!

I called Mr. Doyle and explained how there was water dripping into the refrigerator from the freezer. Doyle said he charged $60 for the service call but that he was "real sure he could repair it." After a 3 minute inspection he said it "unrepairable" and demanded a $60 sevice charge. At $60 per 3 minute analysis this Doyle guy will soon become the Donald Trump of appliance repair. What a SCAM! AVOID!

I called All Appliance Repair and talked to Bill, the owner, and explained what my oven was doing. He told me what he thought the problem was, and how much it would be to fix. He came out the next day and fixed it very quickly and for the exact price he quoted me...which was less expensive than a service call from anyone else. I'm very satisfied and I would definately reccomend to anyone!
