Osteoporosis
Dr. Fichter has practiced medicine for 30 years and currently provides clinical care for gynecology patients. He has an interest in a broad spectrum of gynecologic areas – infertility and menopause. Urinary Incontinence
We believe that a positive self image is essential for a women’s overall well being. In addition to encouraging a healthy eating habits and regular exercise we offer many services to contribute to a women’s self esteem such as bone density and urinary incontinence diagnosis and treatment among others.
Immunizations
Offered to women 19 years and older, this vaccination to prevent cervical cancer is nearly 100% effective against the 11 HPV (human papilloma virus) subtypes it targets. These are the two most common viral subtypes that cause genital warts and the 9 most common viral subtypes that cause high grade precancerous changes on the cervix as seen on PAP smear. Ages 12 – 14, when a girl is HPV-naive and has a very strong immune system, is the ideal time to get this vaccine. However, insurance will cover the three-shot series through age 26.

Female Infertility
Obstetrics
Katherine Congelosi, MD grew up in Montgomery, NY. Her special interests are in obstetrics, contraception and family planning, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
Endometriosis
Our doctors have a special interest and expertise in infertility evaluation and treatment. After a thorough history, examination and testing, they will outline the best options for treating your infertility problems. Since 1990, we have enrolled patients in our Ovulation Monitoring Program, which allows us to use ultrasound and medication to help patients overcome a variety of infertility issues. We also can perform laparoscopy when necessary in conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic scarring. We work closely with the reproductive endocrinologists in Rochester.
Pregnancy
Our ultrasonographers will do any first trimester ultrasound, including first trimester screening, that is required; we ask the SMH obstetrical ultrasonographers to look at your baby in the second & third trimesters. These ultrasounds are read by the perinatologist (obstetricians that specialize in high risk pregnancy).
Labor and Delivery
You will deliver your baby at Strong Hospital. Strong offers a variety of classes to help prepare mothers and their partners for labor and delivery, parenting issues and preparing for hospital stay. Please open the link for specific information.

Cervical Cancer
Cervical cancer, which we now know is almost always caused by the high risk strains of the HPV virus, has been screened with the PAP smear since about 1950. Although traditionally the PAP has been done yearly in all women, it is now tailored to the age and PAP history of a woman. If indicated by the PAP results, you may be advised to have a colposcopy, a magnified look at the cervix by a pair of binoculars on a stand in the colposcope.

Ultrasound
To determine if you are a candidate for this procedure, your physicians will perform a physical examination and possibly other tests such as an ultrasound and endometrial biopsy. An endometrial biopsy is obtained by sampling the uterine lining. These may help to determine the cause of your heavy menses.
X-Rays

General Surgery
After graduation from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad India in 1987, she studied general surgery and anesthesia at Hartlepool General Hospital in Cleveland, United Kingdom. She completed her Residency in Obstetrics from Leicester General Hospital and obtained her Membership in the Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1993. She proceeded to complete her 2nd Residency in 1997 from the University of Rochester and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Minimally Invasive Surgery
Your doctor will probably refer you to our state of the art Urodynamics Lab for a thorough diagnostic evaluation before recommending treatment. We offer a full range of treatment options including physical therapy, biofeedback, bladder retraining, lifestyle changes, acupuncture, medication, pessaries or minimally invasive surgery.
Hysterectomy
Sometimes the pelvic support of the uterus or vaginal wall is weakened and there may be a sense of pressure or “fullness” in the vagina with walking, lifting or at the end of a long day on your feet. You might have a “fallen bladder” (cystocele) or pressure of the rectum into the lower vagina (a rectocele) or a “dropped uterus” (uterine prolapse. Sometimes the vagina after a hysterectomy can “fall” as well. Discuss with your doctor any concerns you might have if some of the above symptoms apply to you).
Endometrial Ablation
The goal of endometrial ablation is to reduce menstrual flow or completely eliminate it. This is achieved by reducing the amount of uterine lining that sheds each month. To date, studies have shown that 80% of patients have no flow or light to normal flow. The remaining 20% of patients will continue to experience a heavy flow and require alternative therapies.
Laparoscopy
Her special interests are contraception and family planning, advanced laparoscopy and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, sexual health/disorders.
Reconstructive Surgery
This is a medical condition that occurs when there are defects in pelvic floor support. It results in sagging of vaginal tissue and dropping of the bladder, uterus and rectum especially when straining or standing. As the problem worsens, women can feel tissue protruding through the vaginal opening. There may also be discomfort and bladder or bowel control problems. Vaginal laxity can also result in less satisfying sex for both the patient and her partner. Minor degrees of prolapse can often be helped by doing Kegel exercises. Severe prolapse can be managed by wearing a vaginal device called a pessary. For severe prolapse most patients prefer to have a surgical repair known as pelvic reconstructive surgery.

Botox Cosmetic® reduces wrinkles in upper face by releasing the contracted muscles causing wrinkles. Approved by the FDA in 2002 for cosmetic use, Botox reduces wrinkles by up to 80% and treatments last a minimum of 3 months to as long as 5-6 months.
Liposuction
ParkWest Women’s Health is pleased to offer AWAKE Liposuction of the abdomen and torso performed under local anesthesia utilizing the tumescent technique. Liposuction performed this way avoids the risk and expense of general anesthesia. Laparoscopic Surgery
In addition to providing general OB/GYN care to women of all ages, Dr. Morrison also provides pediatric and adolescent gynecology subspecialty care (menstrual disorders, PCOS, vulvar conditions). Her other interests are high and low risk obstetrics, contraception, family planning, minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, and providing GYN care to young women with developmental disabilities.

Physical Therapists

Physical Therapy
Loss of urine (incontinence) is a surprisingly common problem seen in women. The cause of the urine loss may be due to “bladder spasms” (overactive bladder), a “dropped bladder” (a cystocele) or an overly mobile urethra (urethral hypermobility) for example. ParkWest Women’s Health offers a procedure called Urodynamics whereby the bladder is back-filled with sterile water to see what might be the cause of incontinence. In this way, the correct treatment plan can be designed specifically for you. Treatments might include medication, surgery to support the bladder or urethra, physical therapy with biofeedback, use of a pessary – a support that goes into the vagina to support the bladder and/or urethra – or a combination of these.
