Emergency Care
If you have an ophthalmic emergency while the office is closed, you should call 911 or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room. Please do not call after-hours if you do not have an emergent or urgent eye condition. For example, this service should not be used to ask questions about medications, request prescription refills, unless it is urgent, cancel or reschedule appointments, or request routine eye care services.

Also, if you are taking Pilocarpine, please do not schedule any other tests with a pressure check or a full examination. If you are taking Pilocarpine, the day that you come to the office for the special glaucoma tests should be for those tests alone.

Macular Degeneration
The macula is the central portion of the retina. The retina is the thin tissue that lines the inside of the eye. It contains cells that are sensitive to light and trigger nerve impulses that pass via the optic nerve to the brain which then forms the visual image. The retina is to the eye what film is to a camera. Because the macula is the very central portion of this ‘film,’ any disease that affects it can alter the most important field of the vision. Degeneration is the irreversible deterioration of specific cells or organs caused by injury or disease with resulting functional impairment. Hence, the term ‘Macular Degeneration’ indicates the irreversible deterioration of central retinal cells caused by injury or disease with corresponding loss of the central vision.
Laser Eye Surgery
Dry eye syndrome occurs in nearly every LASIK patient. Recent ophthalmic literature states that dry eye syndrome occurs in 100% of LASIK patients. For that reason, we recommend temporary plugs for all LASIK patients to provide a smooth and nurturing tear surface for the critical week or two following the procedure. An occasional LASIK patient will find the week or two not adequate and will need permanent plugs inserted after the temporary plugs have dissolved.
Cataracts
Dr. Ngo is an amazing doctor. In the past 2 months I she removed cataracts from both os my eyes. For the first time since I was 15, I have 20/20 distance vision and I rarely need my “readers” for close work. I had no pain; no complications; no problems. Everything went exactly as she said it would. My PPC recommended her and I am indebted to her for that. Dr. Ngo will remain my opthomologist for the future. I would give her 6 stars if that option were available.
Cataract Surgery
Dr. Ngo did my cataract surgery recently and my vision is so much improved. Her follow-up care is great as well as her attention to detail. She is a very enjoyable person and I highly recommend her.
Eye Exam
Here’s what to expect when you come in for your routine eye exam. As a new patient, you will answer a few general questions regarding your medical history. The workup will begin with a vision check and evaluation of your contact lenses if applicable. This exam will provide you with updated glasses and contact lens prescriptions. We have two contact lens specialists with expertise in fitting a variety of different contacts to meet the needs of our patients including soft and hard lenses. We have familiarity with many different brands whether it’s a single vision, monovision, multifocal, etc. If your contact lens specialist needs to special order a trial pair of lenses for you, additional visits will be required to evaluate the fit upon the arrival of the lenses.

I am a retired RN of the large hospital System in Houston and has managed the Pre-op,PACU and the Endoscopy Dept of the Oupatient Surgery. Customer satisfaction is very important to us. I moved here in Plano after my House was damaged by the flood during Harvey I needed cataract surgery before my transfer and was challenged to find a new MD.I was looking for one closer to where I live and was fortunate enough to have chosen Dr. Ngo. She met all my expectations. Pre and post surgery. Great staff.
