Founded in 1844, YMCA of the USA, renamed as the Y, is a nonprofit organization offering programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. It is also engaged in promoting competition around the world through games. The organization offers educational programs for youth and families and also provides military outreach services and programs on childhood obesity. Additionally, it provides services to the affected by natural disasters through fundraising, rebuilding efforts. YMCA of the USA organizes various programs for the affected communities, particularly children and young people.
