Massage

Swedish Massage
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as "adhesions.")
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of the muscle tissue that releases chronic muscle tension. It usually focuses on more specific areas and especially helps athletes and those clients recovering from injury.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is designed to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recover after a big event, or function well during training. But you don't have to be in the Olympics to benefit from sports massage. Sports massage is also good for people with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion.
Hot Stone Massage
Hot stones that absorb heat are positioned along both sides of the spine to deliver concentrated centers of heat to provide effective tissue and muscle massage at a pressure level comfortable to the client. Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy is a term that describes the application of ice, cold towels, ice massage and compresses to reduce the temperature of tissues directly below the surface of the skin. Surface cooling constricts blood vessels, numbs painful areas, and relaxes muscle spasms. Colder temperatures reduce nerve transmission of painful symptoms and provide temporary relief. Ice is most often used to manage acute injuries or recent eruptions of chronic conditions. Cooling affected tissues is effective in reducing and preventing post traumatic swelling. Local cooling should be applied several times a day during the initial stages of an injury.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electrical Muscle Stimulation is a special form of electrical current that is administered at the site of soft tissue injury, especially muscles, for the relief of pain. Small amounts of electrical current are induced into the tissues for the purpose of reducing swelling. This widely used technique safely strengthens muscles and reduces painful symptoms.

Chiropractic Adjustments
Hot packs, moist warm towels, heating pads, water bottles and infrared lamps are often used to help raise the temperature of soft tissues directly below the skin. Heat applied to the surface of the skin enlarges blood vessels below the surface, relaxing tissues and temporarily relieving painful symptoms. Increasing circulation and relaxing muscles is helpful before or after chiropractic adjustments, exercise, and other treatments. Heat is usually recommended for the relaxation of tissues in spasm and temporary relief of the symptoms associated with chronic pain and muscle spasms.
Intersegmental Traction
Intersegmental traction is a true rehabilitation therapy and as such, it takes place after the active phase of treatment has been completed. Intersegmental traction is used to improve mobility and circulation in and around the joints of the spine. In spinal injuries or mechanical problems of the spine, the articulations or joints of the spine lose their mobility causing the ligaments and muscles to lose their elasticity. Intersegmental traction (IST) stretches the joints mobilizing them (like working a rusty hinge) and through the stretching mechanism helps restore the elasticity to the muscles and ligaments.

A Subluxation is a chiropractic term that refers to a misalignment of the vertebrae, generally of a minor nature.In essence, a vertebra that is not properly aligned with the other vertebrae creates pressure on or stretches the nerves in the spinal cord and the nerves around the spine. This increases the likelihood that nerve signals will not be transmitted properly and can cause pain. Subluxations, cervical or otherwise, can have a number of causes, including trauma from an automobile accident, falling, poor lifting techniques and bad posture.
Manipulation Therapy
The most common therapeutic procedure performed by doctors of chiropractic is known as "spinal manipulation," also called "chiropractic adjustment." The purpose of manipulation is to restore joint mobility by manually applying a controlled force into joints that have become hypomobile - or restricted in their movement - as a result of a tissue injury. Tissue injury can be caused by a single traumatic event, such as improper lifting of a heavy object, or through repetitive stresses, such as sitting in an awkward position with poor spinal posture for an extended period of time. In either case, injured tissues undergo physical and chemical changes that can cause inflammation, pain, and diminished function for the sufferer. Manipulation, or adjustment of the affected joint and tissues, restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and muscle tightness, and allowing tissues to heal.
