The Furniture Warehouse-Port Charlotte

BUYER BEWARE:

Furniture warehouse will NOT give you a refund on your merchandise, ONLY a 'store credit' using the absolutely 'flimsy excuse' that since they are a 'warehouse operation' they ONLY give STORE CREDITS and you must return it within 7 days of purchase.

Unaware of this policy, we purchased over $5,000 of furniture over the last two months (Jan/Mar 2019) at thefurniturewarehouse.com in Port Charlotte and on our last purchase we bought 3 lamps, one of which we tried to return.

When we returned this one item (a single floor lamp) for a refund, they told us 'no refunds', only store credits however this was NEVER verbally told to us by the sales rep at any of our multiple purchases and it was ONLY when we read the 'small print' on our receipt that the sales rep told us 'no refunds' that we became aware of it.

We consider this policy as blatant dishonesty and CONTEMPT for customers on the part of Furniture Warehouse. If we had been told 'up front' at the time of our first purchase of this policy we NEVER would have purchased from them however, if they had told us, we would have had no basis for any complaint. The problem is, by not informing customers CLEARLY BEFORE PURCHASING, THEY HIDE THIS POLICY
THIS IS DECEPTIVE MARKETING .

If this is not a deceptive practice, then there are no deceptive practices.

Virtually every 'honest' and legitimate warehouse or other businesses, Sam's Club, Costco have NO such policy and furniturewarehouse's is blatant contempt for its customers. I know of no other business anywhere that has such a contemptuous disregard for customers.

Be aware if what you buy there is from China it is going to stink like formaldehyde and I still haven't been able to get the smell out of the drawers in the dresser. Customer service recommended fabric softener sheets & those didn't work. The smell of the bed frame was bearable after a couple of days, but I can't get the smell out of the drawers so I can't put clothes or anything else that can pick up the smell in the dresser or nightstand! Their clearance sale ad is also a farce as I have been watching their ads and prices have been the same all along. Staff was friendly, no complaints there and the reason we chose this store. Now I wish we had purchased our furniture elsewhere. No call back from their customer service dept. either.
