In addition to screening your pet for heart disease, we offer advanced diagnostic procedures including echocardiogram (cardiac ultrasound) and EKG. Bayshore Animal Hospital is privileged to have a Board-Certified Cardiologist for specialized diagnostic procedures by appointment only, ensuring that your pet is getting an appropriate treatment plan for their unique needs.

Wound and Fracture Care
The doctors of Bayshore Animal Hospital proudly offer a wide array of routine and advanced surgical procedures, including orthopedic, soft tissue, and ophthalmic. Our specialized surgeries (cruciate ligament tears, fracture repairs, corrective airway surgeries, etc.) are performed by a board-certified surgical specialist, and can be scheduled at our Port Orange location. Doing so offers significant cost savings and saves you the trip to a specialty center in Orlando or Jacksonville, all while maintaining the same level of exclusive care performed by a board-certified specialist. In addition, the doctors of Bayshore perform routine and comprehensive anesthetic dental treatments. We use a conservative yet appropriate approach to dentistry for your pet, meaning we only recommend prophylactic cleaning if it is necessary and only address diseased teeth, ensuring that your pet has many healthy teeth for as long as possible.
Poisoning Treatment
As delicious as your Thanksgiving feast might be, it could pose some potential threats for your pet. Food items such as turkey skin can cause a life-threatening condition in animals called pancreatitis while seasoning used to cook these meals can bother their stomach. Uncooked dough or cookie/cake batter can also lead to painful bloating or food poisoning. Be careful when disposing turkey carcasses and small bones as these can be hazardous for your pet as well.

Laboratory Services
Bayshore Animal Hospital is equipped with emergency in-house diagnostics to quickly assess your pet’s critical needs in the event of an emergency. Many routine and preventative laboratory samples are processed in our on-site lab, offering an accurate treatment plan. Lab samples can also be evaluated by a full-service reference laboratory, offering pathology or technology consultation.
X-Ray
High quality digital radiography is available at both our Ormond Beach and Port Orange locations. Radiographs (X-rays) are quick and easily performed, with our doctors reviewing the radiographs in the exam room with you. In addition, abdominal ultrasounds are offered by advanced appointment if necessary for your pet. For both diagnostic procedures, a Board-Certified specialist in the field of radiology can be incorporated to assist with interpretation of the findings.
