The service itself was good- delivered on time and the guy did what he was supposed to do. HOWEVER, I called and told the gentleman who answered the phone EXACTLY what their website suggests- which is the size of the area in square feet. I told him that I wanted to fill in an area off the side of my driveway which is approximately 100 sqft. and compared it to a parking spot size. He suggested 3 tons of gravel. I initially thought that it was too much, but I thought that he was the expert and could tell me what I needed based upon asking me the right questions. Apparently not! When I called him to let him know if the disatisfaction he was a jerk and didn't try to make the situation right by any means! I wasn't expecting a free delivery but he could have discounted the services for the amount that I needed, not that he decided to sell me on! I would not recommend this company for your gravel needs!

Update: 3/19/15. Kickapoo Sand and Gravel did call and offer that if my husband and I were not completely satisfied with our purchase that they would refund the full amount. However, nearly a month later it was hard to decide if the gravel was still too much due to snow on the ground. They followed up today and asked if there was anything they could do to rectify the situation. I am pleased by the follow-up. I do believe they take their customer service reviews seriously and I believe they care about the reflection of every customer's comments and review. This makes the difference between using a big company and a smaller local company. For this alone, I've changed my mind about using them again. I've also decided to increase my star rating from at 2 to a 4. However, I would still give them as much information about your area as possible to avoid situations like I've had and go with your gut when having to make the final decision. Too much gravel can be a nightmare if you don't have anywhere to put it!

Really bad experience. They don't follow up on what they say they'll do They said they would call by a certain time in the morning but didn't. After waiting hours I called them and they said the delivery MIGHT take place much later in the day but would not commit to a time. I called a different company and they were on site within 45 minutes

i am giving them a 4 out of 5 for the fact that they want you to stay in your truck when loading, but in my opinion thats impossible to do. the loader operator has a huge bucket of sand,rock,etc and he doent know the exact amount hes putting in. i had more dirt loaded than i wanted and had to iterally throw some back....but they have great service, & even better prices. I would recommend them to anyone who doest want to go to the menards and buy 20 50lb bags of dirt, etc. for the price of 1 50lb you can get a truck load there......i wish they would stay open later on saturday....
