We've just returned from a terrible experience at this rest. We had heard from a few other's that they had ate breakfast there before and that it wasn't bad do we decided to go there this evening for dinner. What a terrible meal. There were three of us, my aunt visiting from Nova Scotia, my wife and myself. We all ordered the Flounder which came with a soup and desert. The soup we chose was cream of potato. It came and was so thick that I could hardly get my spoon through it. I could smell the garlic as soon as the waitress brought it. It was so strong that I could not even bear to taste it. My wife and aunt struggled through about half of theirs and could not finish it. Then came the Flounder. It was so slimy that the batter was slipping off the surface. It had a mushy texture and tasted fishy, yes I said fishy. I've eaten a lot of fish in my life and my wife comes from a family of fisherman. The one thing we do know about fish is that it should never, no never, taste fishy. That is a sure sign that it is not fresh. The fries which we ordered with our meal were like eating cardboard. I tried to eat some of my meal but could only get through a few bites and that was only if I smothered my fish with tartar sauce (packaged) and the fries with Catsup. When the waitress came to see if everything was ok I told her that I could not touch the soup and that our meals were not edible. Her only response was "sorry about that, can I bring you dessert, it's included." By this time we certainly had no appetite so we simply took the check. We went to the cash and expressed our dissatisfaction with the girl on the cash and all she said was "sorry, but there is nothing I can do. The management here won't allow us to respond to customer complaints. I grew up in the restaurant business so I know how frustrating it is but there is really nothing I can do." Well how about that. I told her that my motto is simple, if you are not happy with the food and/or service tell the owners, if you are tell others. I know which part of that I will be following.
Terrible place and I certainly would not recommend it for any purchase what so ever. I would sooner go to MacDonald's. Go figure.
