Kitchen Remodeling
The project also included repurposing existing cabinetry by upgrading the tops and changing some design elements which we coordinated. The building was completely re-wired for data to all the offices and each workstation, all terminating at the new computer server room. Electronic swipe card security was added to entrance doors and a security camera system covering the office areas and exterior were also installed.
Flooring
"We’re honored RUSD chose us to help them improve their energy efficiency as well as several other renovations such as a new board room (shown above) and new floors. We installed 38,000 square feet of vinyl tile flooring at Park, Horlick, Jerstad-Agerholm, Schulte, Mitchell, Red Apple and Starbuck. Racine Unified School District contracted with Katt Construction Corporation on renovations to a number of the school districts’ properties during our off season. Not only did Katt fulfill our need as the Owner Representative to complete the upgrades to the HVAC systems, weatherization of doors, replacement of windows, water conservation and electrical upgrades. Katt also renovated our board room, science rooms and installed new floors. I can always count on their crews to provide us with the expertise and sense of urgency needed to get the job done."
Door Installation/Replacement
Framing
This downtown Racine retail building was unoccupied for many years prior to being purchased by Johnson Redevelopment. Katt Construction was hired by Johnson to perform demolition and creation an interior “white box” condition and construction of a new storefront including total re-construction of the historical cornice. The current owner Brad Harring then hired Katt to perform the interior build-out for his growing gallery and picture framing company.

Chef Skipp Worden has created a new and exciting menu including everything from land to sea. 20 & Oakes offers an all day dining experience in a relaxed atmosphere. Demolition
Demolition included removal of the dated bar, brass railings, raised gaming area and infilling the sunken floor with concrete. Installation of a new bar with granite countertop, new liquor/wine cabinets, coolers, a new gas fireplace, and lighting. A highlight of the redesign includes the buffet area with built in cook-tops, heating elements and refrigeration units. Additional finishing touches included flooring, wall coverings and ceilings work.

Masonry
Echo Lake Foods is a frozen food manufacturer established in 1941. Echo Lake is always looking to the future. This -25 degree freezer and 40 degree cooler was built by Katt Construction utilizing a pre-engineered steel frame and 6″ insulated wall panels. Katt received the Customer of the year award from Foremost Building Systems for this project in 2007. What made this project interesting was the close proximity to the existing freezer. In order to meet state fire codes a tricky combination of masonry firewalls and Thermal safe wall panels was utilized.
Electrical Work
The electrical work included updated lighting in parts of the great room, additional outlets for copiers, wiring power to cubicle systems, power and lighting for a new computer server room as well as moving switches etc. to accommodate the new layout of the work spaces.
