Governor's Point Apartments

Governors Point Apartments (and Northland Investment Corporation, the company that owns it) has been horrible to work with since I moved out. They sent me a VOID CHECK that was supposed to be reimbursing me for my security deposit. My bank notified me that the account was closed and it could not process the check. My bank said that if I tried to redeposit it and it bounced again, it would place an automatic freeze on all my accounts. I contacted Citibank (the bank that issued the check from Northland Investment Corporation) and they confirmed that a hold was placed on the check. Citibank could not give me much more detail than that for confidentiality reasons. I have contacted Governors Point over 5 times on the matter. Every time they could not give me an answer as to why a hold was placed on it, nor will they write me a new check.
Just to clarify, this is money the apartment complex owes me, by contract, but appears unwilling to pay. It appears they are just waiting for me to go away, but I am not going to let that happen by notifying every potential and current resident of what they are dealing with in Governors Point and Northland Investment Corporation.
