Primary Care
We are happy to make referrals when there is a problem outside our area of expertise. Please be aware that some insurance companies and specialists require an evaluation by your primary care physician prior to referral to specialists.
Emergency Care
Patients are seen by appointment ONLY. Walk-in patients may be seen if an appointment is available. If no appointment is available, you have the option of going to one of our Rx Urgent Care locations. If you have an URGENT problem, call the appointment line. We will do our best to schedule you with your physician, but if your physician is unavailable, one of the other physicians may be able to see you. Pediatric patients are seen only at our North Raleigh location on Durant Road. We will do our best to see you within twenty minutes of your scheduled appointment. Please let the front desk know if you are waiting longer. If you must be late for an appointment, please phone us, as your appointment may need to be rescheduled. If you cannot make an appointment, please contact the office at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment time or you will be charged a $35 no-show/late cancellation fee. ($50 for specialist)
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is well-tolerated and rarely causes much pain. You might feel pressure, bloating or cramping during the procedure. Before the Colonoscopy, your doctor might give you a sedative or painkiller to help you relax and better tolerate any discomfort. Â The instrument is passed via the anus and examination of the entire colon is usually possible. The examination is usually straightforward and takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Any abnormal areas are identified and tissue samples may be taken via the instrument. Any polyps can often be removed at the time of the examination.

The colonoscopy in women tend to be more difficult due to the fact they have longer colons, as well as scar tissues from prior gynecology surgeries (i.e. cesarean section, hysterectomy) and finally from active gynecology issues that can alter anatomy (i.e. fibroids, endometriosis).Â Despite these differences the colonoscopy is a low risk procedure that is strongly recommended for prevention of colorectal cancer.

Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, is a method of obtaining images of internal organs by sending high-frequency sound waves into the body. The reflected sound wavesâ€™ echoes are recorded and displayed as a real-time visual image. No ionizing radiation (x-ray) is involved in ultrasound imaging.

Can show several types of tissue â€” lung, bone, soft tissue and blood vessels â€” with great clarity. Using specialized equipment and expertise to create and interpret CT scans of the body, radiologists can more easily diagnose problems such as cancers, cardiovascular disease, infectious disease, trauma and musculoskeletal disorders. There is a small amount of radiation with CT, but the benefits of this test far outweigh any risk.
