Valenta - Eating Disorder Clinic

Very unprofessional company. A place where one thinks clients would find a safe haven and compassion but instead is met with judgement and insecurity. Interaction with Shannon, a therapist there was highly negative. She was very belittling, self-righteous, and judgmental. This is not a place I would send my loved ones to get help. I want environment where I can be vulnerable and seek change. The atmosphere and therapists at this company do not promote compassion.

After struggling with an eating disorder for many years, I begrudgingly chose to enroll in the partial hospitalization program at Valenta. I found, however, that my time there would be crucial for my recovery. The caring and dedicated staff helped me begin to deconstruct the longstanding misconceptions I had about myself; thus, the fuel for my eating disorder gradually deminished. Unlike other therapists, this at Valenta were devoted to a holistic form of healing. While there I received treatment and resources for my ptsd, major depressive disorder, and my anxiety. I was never pushed medication, and staff devoted worked alongside me to facilitate my healing. Thanks to my stay at Valenta, I found the courage to choose healing. I can now say with pride that I am beginning my second year of the recovery process.

I had struggled with an eating disorder for about 9 years before finally seeking treatment. Valenta came highly recommended to me. I chose to place my full trust in the staff here in order to get the most out of my treatment. In the end I was betrayed by the staff there and led to believe that unless I did things their way, I didn't care about my recovery. They were extremely mean-spirited towards me and allowed me to leave against medical advice without trying to talk to me about it. After I left I tried to obtain my medical records and they withheld them from me until I threatened to file complaints with the medical board. Do your research for yourself or your loved one. This is not a center I would ever recommend.

I struggled with an eating disorder for nearly 18 years before I got the courage to seek treatment. I put all of my trust into the psychiatrist at Valenta and after an entire year under his care I was worse off than I was when I entered treatment at Valenta. I ended up in the ER with Akathisia due to medication mistakes and in the hospital again at the end of my treatment. My medical records were withheld from me until I spoke with my attorney. After reading through my records I had a few simple questions and the psychiatrist at Valenta told me that it would cost $450.00 to get any answers. I had to file a complaint with the medical board about my experience in treatment. I would not recommend this facility. There are other options out there!
