        Be ready to call maintenance fairly often Don't get an apartment on the ground floor if you can keep from it. Before renting anything on the ground floor, ask about your upstairs neighbors. My upstairs neighbor right over me, had kids and friends and family who had kids. Their floors were very creaky so I knew just about every move they made. The leasing office personnel were friendly, and attentive to my needs.
