BEWARE of HOME TEAM ROOFING INC-Charles Byrd and Brother in law Don Sorrentino! If you are looking for a roofing contractor, PLEASE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKE! I believe this contractor to be one of the most unethical and shady I have ever experienced. I should have known when they would not give you an estimate for your roof until they see the Insurance claim...no matter how hard you press! Once they reviewed my claim, they used "creative math" and "smoke and mirrors" to give me an "estimate"...which was thousands less than their final invoice! They invoiced my insurance company(one of the major cos.) for work they never completed NOR ever intended to. Ie. Fence, gutters, and interior drywall damage. When final claim was paid by my insurance company, they demanded payment and charged me for being the General Contractor...even though they did not coordinate any other contractor nor perform any other repairs to my property! When my insurance company advised me that Home Team Roofing was not entitled to these funds, the Bullying, Harassment(via close to one hundred texts), calls to my wife, and Lien threats began...and still continue 2 weeks later! This is after I have paid them more than $15,000 which my insurance company advised me they were owed for replacing my roof. Most interesting, they somehow cashed my initial $12,000 insurance check without my Mortgage Co. endorsing...State Insurance Board currently investigating this one! I am hoping to spare our fellow DFW Neighbors from this NIGHTMARE! Please research contractors thoroughly and read contract closely and DEMAND estimate prior to them seeing your insurance claim!
