Naff Auto Sales

At first I thought these guys were very nice and good to deal with. The car I was interested in was posted Sat night on Auto Trader. I had called them first thing on Monday morning inquiring if the car was still there, since I live over two hours away I wanted to make sure the trip was not in vain. They told me that it was and I made arrangements to leave work early and go get this car. Unfortunately it was dark by the time we arrived and that made for poor viewing opportunity. I will admit that I should have tried to see it in the daylight for a better understanding of the car. Especially with it being black. I was told that it was in great shape, no dents, major scratches or mechanical problems. Since the gentlemen were kind enough to hold the car for me and also be up front about the radio not working, I thought well I can trust them on this too. How wrong I was! They were nice enough to take $100 off of the sale price because of: the missing button on the e-brake handle, the lack of lighting on the heater controls and the missing piece out of the front grille. However they did fail to mention that that car had been wrecked, no not a wreck that had to be reported to Carfax, but none the less a very nice fender bender. A fender bender that was fixed with bondo and crappy paint. The driver's side also has a nice big crack in the rear fender. There is clearly a section of the front passenger side that was scrapped against something. So telling me that it was in great shape with no damage was obviously just an oversight for them. Also come to find out when we got it home that their mechanic had put the wrong power steering fluid in the car and now I have a ruined power steering pump. Just more money I have to put into the car. I was told that I would have a 30 day warranty and that "If I needed anything just give us a call." A couple of days after having the car we did call to let them know that this was not what we had expected or were told about the car. They couldn't care less. And when we explained that at the least they could make sure their mechanic was using the right fluids all he said was, "well that's not my area." Really? Because I thought you owned the lot and therefore it is ALL your area! We were told that they would send all of the info to the DMV and that we would have a registration in the mail within two weeks. The most frustrating and unprofessional thing was the fact that when I called two days before my 30 day tags were to expire he said, "well with the holidays it takes time". Funny how the date on my title is same day I called to complain about this issue. They hadn't even begun to get the paperwork done with the DMV and then had the audacity to lie to me about it! I will NEVER go back or recommend them to anyone! Bottom line, they are nice to you in person, but lie behind your back or over the phone!
