Overall

Like the other reviewers, I too was not allowed to return when I dared to get a second opinion before allowing my child to have a major procedure involving several teeth and the possibility of general anesthesia. On my initial visit, Dr Davis cheerfully informed me that the problem with my child's teeth was that I had given him milk to drink, which he did not need and I'd be better off giving my Coke, and that I had "inoculated" him with my germs when he was a baby by kissing. Possibly true, but what a thing to tell a mother! I cannot understand why the man is still in business.

Don't take your child there!

My daughter is a special case. She has epilepsy and had a grand mal seizure which knocked her two front teeth loose about 6 mos ago. Recently, one of the teeth abscessed and Dr. Davis wanted to extract it. He said there was no way to repair it. She JUST turned 3. I called her neurologist to discuss and he advised me NOT to extract it and that it COULD be repaired by a procedure called a "pulpectomy". He also said he wanted ANY dental work done under general anesthesia due to her epilepsy and he wanted to approve any medications used, as she's on some heavy epilspsy meds. When I called Dr. Davis' office to cancel her extraction, he relayed to me that my child's neurologist is NOT a dentist and has no business advising me on her dental work!!! Before this comment, I had asked if she could be treated there until her appt. in Virginia Beach with her specialist and he said that she'd have to go there for treatment since I wouldn't take his advice. I would be doing my child a disservice if I did NOT get a second opinion with something that is so important and he will NOT work on a patient that has had a second opinion. That tells me he doesn't know what the heck he's doing, especially since he told me there was nothing that could be done to save the tooth. That's an outright LIE!!!!!!!!! DO NOT LET HIM EXTRACT A BABY TOOTH WITHOUT CONFERRING WITH ANOTHER DOCTOR!!
