Gutter Helmet Of Long Island, Corp

I have just talked to the owner of this company. I am not sure where to begin from. We recently bought a house with Gutter Helmet installed. The installation took place in 2005. After a moderate rain, we got water in the basement. After checking the gutters, I noticed that one side is clogged with leaves and debris. Helmet extends over the gutter, so there is no practical way to take the debris out.



I called the company on June 8, 2013, and scheduled a service. I was told that "as soon as somebody is available, we will call you back." After about a week, I called again. They said that they are 15 days behind the schedule because of heavy rain (which they should have told me in the first call, so I could plan accordingly). On July 1st, I called them again. The answer is the same, "we are doing the best we can". After insisting on the phone to learn when they will be available to fix, I get the answer "three weeks from today." So I schedule service on June 8, and I am likely to get somebody at the end of July.



Who needs a warranty service like this, even though it is supposedly free?



The owner says they have 5 contractors working. She claims it has been raining, even though IT DID NOT RAIN AT ALL in the past two weeks. When I indicate that, then she claims the temperature was 100 F, even though it did not exceed 87 F. And obviously, the temperature is not the highest all day long.



Let me also tell you what I think about their product. They claim that you "never need to clean your gutter again." As you can tell from how busy they are to clean their customers' gutters, that claim is simply not true. In a region like Northeast where pollen and leaves are abundant including pine trees, this system simply does not work. What makes everything worse is that once clogged, you cannot simply clean your gutter because it is covered. What is terrible is that the local Gutter Helmet company is likely to schedule a service after approximately 2 months you call them.



If you are ever considering to get Gutter Helmet installed, just DO NOT DO IT. It is WAY easier to just simply clean your gutters if clogged. There are all kinds of tools for you to access from the ground, if you are afraid of a ladder. I will probably remove it and clean the gutters. Thankfully, I was not the one who paid them loads of money for installation.



You SHOULD NOT pay a lot of money and then wait for them to clean your gutters for two months. Debris WILL go into your gutter even though there is helmet because of pine trees and pollen in this region. Maybe this will work in Arizona, where you would not need it anyway.



To conclude, if you do not want to waste your money, STAY AWAY from Gutter Helmet and Gutter Helmet of Long Island!

Crazy prices, and really pushy made me feel so uncomfortable I wouldn't recomend this company to anyone.

I had tried to get into contact with various gutter companies, but none offered the deal Gutter Helmet offered nor did they match its quality. After coming to my home and giving me a free estimate the day after I called, they set me up with an appointment, and finished the repair of my gutters and the installation of the gutter helmet in one day. It was a wonderful investment, as I don't have to go up on the roof to clean my gutters anymore. I later discovered they did roofing and siding and having been highly satisfied with them the first time, I went to them once again, with similar results :) I even got a call after the jobs to make sure everything was okay! No problems, great service, and I am one satisfied customer. My advice: leave it to the Gutter Helmet professionals.

I've tried to use various gutter company's systems that were a bit less expensive only to have them not show up to do the job or found that their systems didn't live up to expectations. However, Gutter Helmet of Long Island set me up with an appointment immediately after giving me a free estimate and were promptly at my home when scheduled. The worker's were professional and walked me through each step of the process. I am very pleased with the work they have done and would highly recommend them.

The installation may be a bit costly, but the product really works. I've never had to clean my gutters since having it installed, while other products didn't live up to what they were hyped up to be. The salesman worked to give me the best possible deal, and the installers finished the job quickly. Best experience with a gutter company I've had.
