Excellence in coffee and tea (from a jar not a bag) served with pride but without pretension. Berry bran muffins are the real deal. The pastries are ample and require a re-fill to complete in one sitting. Baristas may look like they are from slacker central casting but they are professional, precise, and drinks are consistently superb. The regulars are mid-town bohemians, students, and professionals headed toward the nearby light rail stop. The store name might frighten away potential customers. The secluded yet roomy patio attracts smokers. The large, old couches invite the young and old to sit side by side each with a laptop in search of an electrical outlet. There are other many other excellent coffee houses in Sacramento, but the Naked Lounge offers excellent beans, drinks, service and atmosphere with pride but without smugness.
