 Sandra obtained a Bachelor of Science with a major in food and nutrition from Loyola Universtiy, Chicago. She also completed her dietetic internship and Master of Public Health at Benedictine University. Sandra is fascinated by the nutrition, fitness, and wellness industry noting that what we eat, drink, and how we move affects how we will feel today and tomorrow. There is not only a mind-body connection, but a mouth-body connection. Food is our fuel for our minds and our bodies and how we use that fuel translates into our health and wellness achievements. Sandra has been in dietetics for over 15 years, has a wealth of experiences, and enjoys watching the science of nutrition progress throughout our lifespan. Sandra is also a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. She spends her free time training for marathons (completed 18 to date), unwinding outdoors, and spending time with her husband, children, and dog. As a busy mom, Sandra understands the importance of meal planning, grocery shopping, and the need for quick on the go nutrition at times. ​
