CoolSculpting targets and freezes unwanted fat cells in target areas. When fat cells are exposed to extreme cold, a process of natural removal is triggered, gradually reducing the thickness of the fat layer. The result is a visible reduction in fat bulges, while the surrounding skin is left unaffected. CoolSculpting is not a treatment for weight reduction and is best for patients with pockets of stubborn fat that cannot be reduced or eliminated with a healthy diet and exercise. Although patients may see results after as little as three weeks, the effects of CoolSculpting are realized approximately 3-4 months post-treatment. Many patients require only one treatment per area and treatments last about an hour.
