Dental Examination
We perform a complete head, neck, oral examination, and other diagnostic testing. We obtain imaging and other diagnostic records as indicated. If CBCT images are taken, these are read by our providers as well as a medical radiologist.

Fluoride Treatment
Gum irritation, inflammation, or bleeding is usually a result of plaque or food debris caught between the teeth or under the gums. Thorough brushing mornings, evenings, and after every meal is essential to keep your gums healthy while your braces are on. Be sure to keep up your schedule of regular dental check-ups, cleanings, and fluoride treatments while you are in braces.

Dentures
The oral appliance is also easy to keep clean: simply scrub the appliance with denture toothbrush and denture toothpaste each morning, rinse it, and put it away for use the next night.

Dr. Kim Ledermann graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2002. She has a broad-based background in general dentistry performed in both private and nonprofit clinics, which has included seeing patients under general anesthesia in a hospital setting. Additionally, she has a masterâ€™s degree in speech-language pathology and is experienced in the treatment of oropharyngeal dysfunction. Dr. Ledermann has completed extensive training and miniresidencies in the areas of craniofacial/orofacial pain and sleep for children and adults, craniocervical and craniomandibular pathophysiology, and orthodontics.Â She is married with 2 children, a dog and a cat.Â She enjoys traveling, music, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering locally and internationally.Â
Invisalign Orthodontics
Our doctors have extensive training in TMJ and airway-focused orthodontic treatments. This may include expansion, functional appliances, brackets, and Invisalign treatment. Orthodontics is not only about straightening teeth. We focus on the foundation, the airway, the jaws, and the muscles. The goal is to optimize the patient’s structures to improve their condition.
Braces
If one side of the wire is poking you, try to slide the wire in the other direction to center it in your braces. If that doesnâ€™t work, roll a little orthodontic wax into a pea-sized ball and press it over the sharp end. Then call our office to have the wire trimmed or adjusted.

General Dentistry
Dr. Mora Cervenka graduated in 2002 from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where she completed two externship programs and a mini residency and earned a scholarship award in Oral Pathology. Inspired by her experiences as a TMD and migraine patient, she then began to study TMJ disorders at the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Over the next several years she worked in general dentistry while also treating patients with TMJ disorders and taking continuing education courses in treating orofacial pain, migraines, and sleep apnea. Dr. Cervenka’s undergraduate education was at the University of St. Thomas, where she earned departmental honors in biology, graduated Magna Cum Laude, and participated in research that led to her co-authoring a published research paper. Dr. Cervenka joined Minnesota Craniofacial Center in 2018 and is excited about applying her experience to help patients here, while continuing to take courses through the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, Tufts School of Dental Medicine, and many others. Dr. Cervenka is passionate about researching multiple modalities of treatment and learning about the latest available techniques to better help her patients, and she is thrilled to be able to help patients with the advanced treatments available at Minnesota Craniofacial Center.
