I took my small dog here over 5 months ago. She was spotting blood. She is an older girl and I was told she would need to be spayed or she would end up dying soon. The vet told me their was no hope for my sick dog and painted a very bad picture of her future and the only hope for her was a very expensive surgery. I thought she had an infection and asked if they could at least give her some antibiotics for now. The vet gave my dog a shot and sent me home with some pills for a 10 day course of antibiotics. The vet told me they would help but as soon as my dog finished them her sickness would come back full force. I was presented with a bill of 589 dollars for an exam x ray and in office blood test. Well my dog is fine and back to herself. My instincts told me that 10 days of antibiotics was not a long enough treatment for elderly sick dog. She was put on another antibiotic 2 x a day for 21 days and then 1 x day for additional 7. She completely better and the infection is gone and has not returned and my elderly dog did not need the risky surgery that would probably would have killed her. They where quite convincing and had me in tears that my dog was doomed without the surgery that would have cost me close to 3000 dollars plus additional cost if she made it through the surgery. Just be careful and get a second opinion when it comes to surgeries and expensive treatments that may be recommended here. I know the Vet had her opinion and diagnosis but she was clearly wrong as to the surgery was the only cure and answer for my dog. I am very glad we chose to get a second opinion and others with sick pet should consider it also. In the end my dog is well again, happy and a joyful little cutie.

We've been taking our 3 dogs and cat here for nearly 3 years. dr. sanders is the best! you never feel like he's rushing to get to the next patient, even though the practice is busy. he doesn't want to do unnecessary procedures or tests, and is very straightforward about costs/value. dr. dowling and dr. wehrmann have seen our pups on a few occasions where dr. sanders was unavailable, and they also are smart, kind and professional. the vet techs and the office staff are terrific. i would highly recommend this practice.
