Dr. Furner is a summa cum laude graduate of Tarleton State University, Stephenville, Texas. In 1983, she received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, where she received high academic honors. Dr. Furner completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Since completing her training, Dr. Furner has served as president and vice president of the San Antonio Dermatological Society. For more than 26 years, Dr. Furner has delivered satisfying results for many thousands of patients. This is one of the reasons Texas Monthly has repeatedly recognized Dr. Furner as a Super Doctor after selection by her peers as an outstanding medical practitioner in the state of Texas. After growing her practice over the past 20 years, Dr. Furner welcomed her associate, Dr. Finklea, in July of 2013. Dedicated to the art of medicine, Dr. Finklea works hand in hand with her patients to obtain health and radiance, both inside and out. She is a native Texan and magna cum laude graduate of Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina where she earned a degree in Intercultural Business and received an athletic scholarship to play Division I soccer. She received her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she was peer selected “best bed-side manner.” Dr. Finklea has recently completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio where she has cultivated an expertise in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. During this time, she has been published in peer reviewed journals, written text book chapters, and presented at national conferences on medical and cosmetic dermatology. She is a board certified dermatologist and a fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology.
