Once the decay is in the dentin layer, we must treat the tooth. The treatment required depends on the size and location of the cavity but can range from a simple small filling to nerve treatment and a crown or even an extraction.

Dr. Carol Pina is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. Before attending dental school at the University of Texas HSC San Antonio, she was a high school English teacher and also worked at Methodist Hospital. After dental school, Dr. Pina completed a residency in Advanced Education General Dentistry and Pediatric Dentistry at a UTHSCSA satellite program in Laredo, Texas. Dr. Pina is a board certified pediatric dentist by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
