Established in 1983, Advent Software was built out of a need to automate the manual portfolio accounting function in the investment management business. During the next two decades, the company continued in the industry to understand business challenges and provide software and services that helped firms improve workflow, handle increased volume and reduce operating costs. Advent s first portfolio accounting product, Axys, was one of the first solutions built specifically for the personal computer and built on the Microsoft Windows platform. During the years, the company has introduced a variety of products designed to help streamline the investment management business. It also introduced products for client relationship management and partnership accounting. Advent Software is based in San Francisco.
