TASP, also known as TNDC's After School Program, serves more than 250 children annually, ages 5 to 17 years. It provides mentoring, tutoring, computer training, sports, dancing, art activities and annual college tours for older youths. The programs features include weekend photography workshops, creative writing courses, and baseball, basketball and volleyball games. It also organizes weekly dance and judo classes, weekend snow trips that include snowboarding and sledding, and field trips to beaches, museums, aquariums, parks and cultural institutions. The program receives support from volunteers, foundation donors, and various partnering companies, including Barclay s Global Investors, Hotel Nikko, Escape from N.Y. Pizza, Macy's West and Joie de Vivre Hospitality. Located in San Francisco, the program is operated by the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation, also known as TNDC, a nonprofit organization that houses more than 2,400 extremely low-income people in over 1,600 apartments and residential hotel rooms.
