        While pursuing his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed externships in Inherited Retinal Disease at the Jules Stein Eye Institute (UCLA) under Dr. John Heckenlively, MD and Ocular Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (Walter Reed Medical Center). During his ophthalmology residency at the New Jersey Medical School, he accompanied faculty on the Orbis Mission to Calcutta, India where he performed eye screenings for Mother Teresa's orphans and worked with the team to demonstrate pediatric surgical techniques. He then moved back to the West Coast and completed a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the University of California, Irvine, College of Medicine. For the next decade, he built up his experiences treating patients at the Kaiser Permanente (Bellflower, CA) and Orange County Public Health Department, consulting for other physicians at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center (Long Beach, CA), and providing instruction to UC Irvine residents and physicians in retina, cataract surgery, trauma, and comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Narain currently maintains privileges at Good Samaritan Hospital, El Camino Surgery Center, and O’Connor Hospital. At South Bay Retina, we combine state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and therapeutic technologies to provide specialized and compassionate patient-focused-care. Dr. Narain is an experienced vitreoretinal specialist and surgeon, offering treatment for retinal detachment, retinal tear, and floaters.         I trust Dr. Narain with my Dad's Eye!

        I trust Dr. Narain with my Dad's eye health implicitly! We've been seeing him for 6.5 years and we have every faith he suggests the proper treatments and procedures for my Dad and he always keeps abreast of the emerging procedures and shares them with us.

        My experience here, all the employees are very courteous and accommodating. Good explanation before the tests. Everybody is good in here! I have a good Doctor. I have been seeing him for a while and he is very excellent.

        I like it that Dr. Narain that he is checking different parts of my eye and that he explains clearly what is going on. I like that he tries to be more alternative rather than just medication. The staff is also quite friendly.

        i am grateful for the help i got from Dr.Narayan and his staff.

        May 2018, i took my father to South Bay Retina Inc for eye check up. Past year we had to go almost monthly for his treatment as we found out his vision is more problematic than we anticipated. All along Dr. Narayan and his staff has been extremely patient and helpful with listening to our concerns and giving the treatment my father needed. At 82 my father felt safe to keep his eye health in their hands and he is very happy and feel blessed to find them.
