It's Tabu Sushi Bar & Grill

Every sushi roll I've had here was flavorful and delicious. They're reasonably priced, especially during happy hour 3:00-7:00 every day.

Update: Happy hour is now 4:00pm - 6:00pm.

This place is awesome! Love the rolls and the hot dishes as well. I'm an avid sushi'er and can honestly say they've got the goods. Aside from the food, they also happen to have the best server ever- AMANDA!! Amanda is attentive, personable, funny and can totally hang with our roudy, sarcastic and a bit crazy group. This was my first time at Tabu, and let me tell you I'll be back. I didn't even order food, but Sam offered me the best beer I've ever had. She obviously does her squats too. Woman to woman- I appreciate that. I immediately felt our bond increase when.. she hand fed me salmon~it was an unearthly experience. Those baby blues deserved a Yelp. Thank you Sam. Keep your squats up.

Wow!! Just tried this place for the first time and was taken aback by the wonderful customer service from Henry and then the delicious food!! I came in around 2pm on a Wednesday, alone before the grocery store and Henry was so sweet it was like having lunch at a friends house. He paid attention to me while constantly moving and scanning the restaurant to see who else needed attention. Love a server who keeps busy and attentive. I just had a snack and a beer, albacore tuna and a salmon skin handroll but was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of both the fish and the presentation. So so delicious. Can't wait to bring my Honey back for a date night. The draft selection is great and the food menu is huge. This place rocks!!

Tim was literally incredible! He went above and beyond and honestly was amazing. It is incredibly rare to see service like this now and days. We love tabu and come all the time, but this time we were just blown away. It was my husband's birthday and the experience could not have been better. Tim made life time customers out of us. The sushi is wonderful, but tonight the service was phenomenal. Thank you Tim!

Very pleased with this place. Right away I was greated by the very kind & helpful hostess, Nikole. She sat me and my family down. When we asked for suggestions on rolls, she was very energetic and listed off a few of her personal favorites! Ending up trusting her and off the back I loved the roll! Great ambience and will be coming back soon!

So as an out-of-Townes, my hopes were not very high for Tabu Sushi. But immediately as I was taken to my seat and introduced to Jasmine, our waitress, I knew that it was forgoing to be a fruitful experience. She had a keen eye if we needed anything at anytime, and she was one of the most personable people I be met in a casual setting. A real people person. Our food was fantastic from the edamame to the spider roll. I almost didn't want to leave. I can only hope that the next time I pass through San Marcos I can have the pleasure of visiting Tabu Sushi and being delighted with my new beautiful friend, Jasmine once again. Keep doing what you're doing Tabu. I'll be back for sure.

We had an amazing birthday dinner for my step daughther here tonight. The service and food were fantastic, as we have come to expect from this great local sushi restaurant. I ordered a Caterpillar Roll and Atlantic Seafood Roll for my dinner, with an edamame appetizer. The rest of the crew had oysters, Miso soup, Teriyaki chicken, and another superb sushi roll for my wife. This location is always busy, given its proximity to the college campus right across the street. Our server was very pleasant, and the team was constantly checking on our table, asking if there was anything else we needed. Very nice, as we have dined at other sushi restaurants, and once the food was dropped you never saw your server until the expectant check arrived. Not so here. Attentive service, without the whiling helicopter blades of the everpresent "canigetyousomething" monster. Just right. The seafood here is always fresh, and chilled when it should be chillin', and steamy when there should be heat. The menu is huge, and I personally defy you to find something that everyone isn't going to like. Yes, it is that vast! We were really happy to see this visit that the menus actually seemed new...a nice touch. Cocktails? Yup...my wife had the Tabu version of the Moscow Mule, with a fun huckelberry twist. She loved it, and so did I, as it put her in the mood for more...sushi. Good times here, we definitely recommend it. When it is busy, parking can be had on the far north west side of the lot. Easy walking distance, with out banging doors with the other Yelpers clamoring for space at one of the many eateries nearby. Kudos again to the great staff here, we really enjoy their prompt and efficient service. We will be back and look forward to more soy sauce and Sake soaked good times!!!
