He graduated from the UCLA School of Law in 1978, where he was a member of the Law Review and Order of the Coif, and he earned an LL.M in Taxation from New York University in 1986. Mr. Gilbert was a visiting professor at the McGeorge School of Law and an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco Law School and Hastings School of Law, where he taught a variety of estate planning and tax courses.
