We had a great experience with Carrie's Cakes! I brought in my own design and they were able to match it perfectly. These are not the cheapest cakes, but they are the best. We received great service.

I went to Carrie's Cakes because I heard she was the best. I had nothing but bad experiences with her and her employees. I still get upset thinking about it all (and I am not a negative person) and it has been over 3 years since my wedding. This is what I remember from my experience:
-Carrie getting upset when she learned I had a previous consultation with "The Cake Lady". (I'm sorry but isng it my job as a bride to consult with more than one place before making my decision?) She rudely made sure that I knew she was not into the game of price competition and was confident in saying she was the best as far as cake making. (Totally different response compared to "the Cake Lady" commending me for checking out options and saying nice things about her competition.
-I also remember Carrie somewhat trying to talk me out of my ideas of design and color choices saying they were out of style
-she only allowed for 2 flavor options on the 3 tiers. All the other cake places alowed 3 flavors, one for each tier
-one of her staff members was very rude when calling me about the sugar bubbles that would be on my cake. She wanted to know exactly how many I wanted like 50 or 100 (this was not discussed during consultation and I wojldve thought they had better experince at judging how many should be on there) The girl was also rude about saying payment was due that day (this was never discussed at consultation) and then were unable to accept my credit card payment I believe because it was American Express. I had to shuffle around my other funds to accomodate them and in the mean time the girl was very rude and impatient.
-the night before my wedding I get a call from Brook, Carrie's daughter explaining that the people who normally make/scult their cake toppers didnt realize my wedding was the next day so they didnt make me a topper. (what the heck?..theres still 12hrs before the wedding so make it right now people) Brook was very nice and pleasant. But she did offer the most hideous topper Ive seen..2 cartoony obese people for the top. Ugh. It was awful and I said no. We made a deal that she would try to make a topper and I would make a topper and then when the cake gets delivered I could choose the one I like better and stick it on top. Well the cake delivered with her bride and groom (which were awful and looked like was cut out of paper) stuck in the top! Grrhh! So now I have holes in the top of my cake because I needed to replace with my topper.
-I choose a topsy turvey style cake so it is meant to purposely look like the layers are obviously slanting in different directions. Everyone who dared comment on my cake since this day said the entire cake just looked like it had melted or was lopsided. It was not an obvious topsy turvy.
-I was dissappointed with their interpretation of plaid. I wanted one of tbe layers to be a plaid pattern (my husbands Irish heritage plus his love of his bagpipes) I even gave Carrie a piece of scrapbook paper that had the plaid design they could reference. My "plaid" layer ended up looking big fat stripes going across diagnally. No plaid squares that I could recognize
-also I come to find out that Carrie was out of the country when my cake was made. I think it makes sense for a bride to consult with the one making the cake. I didnt choose to consult with her just to have some people I have never met or consulted with make my entire cake! I am still confident that I could've done a better job myself with my amateaur cake skills. I really wouldve considered it more if I didnt have so much going on.
-Also...the cake really did not taste wonderful. It wasnt bad, but it definitley was not fresh

there service was medocre at best while we were there we ordered 3" letter for the cake but told them we would like the price for it first they never called to let us know the price and rather just ordered after we found out that the letter was 85.00 we explained that seemed a bit pricey would rather not add that too the cake only to be told that it was already ordered and that since it was already sent that she would be unable to return. when the cake arrived we were met with the unpleasant sight of a cake that was not what we discussed from wrong color and ribbions the wrong color too top it off all guests told me that the fondit was really hard and dry and completely took away from the cake
