The place is interesting. I've never been to an Olive Garden that was located inside a business center. Strange as it might be, with the babbling stream and a tiny bridge placed over it, the location isn't horrible.
The interior is cozy, just like all other Olive Gardens. I came here in the afternoon, and I was surprised on how attractive the staff was. The host was cute. The bartender was cute. And our server had such beautiful blue eyes compared to bourbon brown hair. And he was a man! He looked like a rugged Paul Rudd, the sexiest man out there. I mean, Paul Rudd gets more beautiful as he gets older. He's amazing!
Anyways, the staff was nice. The place was snug. The price was right. I was looking forward to the pasta. After all, they had two new sauces: a creamy mushroom sauce with sun-dried tomatoes and a pizzaiola meat sauce. What could go wrong, right?
Lots apparently. It wasn't good. Although the price was $8.95 for endless pasta, I was sick of it within two plates worth. Although the mushroom sauce was delicious at first, the flavors became bland very quickly. Not to mention the sun-dried tomatoes they threw in were way too dehydrated, to the point of almost crispy. I got roasted chicken added in hopes it might help, but instead of slices of roasted chicken (like I thought I was going to get), I received bland, dry shredded chicken in my pasta. No bueno.
I then tried the five cheese marinara and it was also lacking. It might have been that the sauce was a bit cold, or just the lack of flavor. Whatever it was, it just made me sad. I kind of nudged the pasta around back and forth and wished I had my soup from earlier instead.
Although I was getting full, the food just wasn't satisfying. I was getting full over bland pasta, and I was wanting the appetizers with more fondness than the entrees. Perhaps the one saving grace for the endless pasta was the pizzaiola meat sauce. That thing had chunks of Italian sausage, beef, and herbs. It was literally the only thing really worth eating; hearty, yet robust. Sadly, one good sauce out of six doesn't equal justification for this deal.
I am a lover of mass food. I love buffets and I love gorging myself. However, just because there is limitless quantities doesn't quality should be sacrificed. Although the "Never Ending Pasta" event is a cool way to attract people, it's really not worth taking the ride. If you're at Olive Garden, just order their regular dishes (chicken scampi is awesome). You'll regret it much less.
