UltraMIST applies low-frequency ultrasound at the site of treatment, utilizing a non-contact fluid such as saline and resulting in a low-energy mist. The mist also increases perfusion through vasodilation, which in turn increases the oxygen and nutrients to the affected area, promoting healing to the wound.
MRI
Recently a more compact MRI machine has made it possible for patients to get imaging of their foot and ankle without having to put their entire body into the MRI machine. The patient can simply sit next to the machine and place the affected extremity inside.

If you have a bunion that is as bothersome as it is painful, our podiatrists may recommend bunion surgery. Bunion surgery is the only way to permanently remove a bunion that has formed on your foot, all other treatments will focus on reducing the symptoms of the bunion.
Bunions
Many different surgical approaches have been developed to remove bunions. The latest, and most advanced, significantly reduces the risk of recurrence by targeting the bunionâ€™s root cause. This surgery is called lapiplasty.

Ingrown toenails, also known as onychocryptosis, are common conditions that can affect any individual regardless of their age or health. When toenails curve as they grow out, the toenail causes the adjacent skin to thicken and causes discomfort. Or when an ingrown toenail tears into the adjoining skin, it causes swelling. It may occur on the left or right side of the nail, or even sometimes on both sides!

Bunions will not improve if you ignore them; without correction, they will only get worse over time. Common symptoms include persistent pain (especially when wearing shoes), decreased range of motion in the big toe (which can interfere with normal movement), and the formation of secondary complications like corns and calluses.

Plantar warts are caused by a virus and can appear on the soles of your feet, which are often mistaken for calluses or scars. While usually harmless, they can be contagious and cause discomfort while walking. Fungus
Thick toenails are not always fungus. The thickening of the toenail can be caused by repetitive microtrauma to the toenail and toenail bed, usually from ill-fitting shoes, and also one traumatic event to the nail bed. It is usually wise to get a biopsy to see if the toenail thickening is from fungus or another cause. This is a simple, pain-free procedure done in the office.

Ankle sprain is usually caused by improper shoe gear, gait instability, or trauma. Individuals with a cavus foot type (supinated foot), are inheritably prone to inversion ankle sprains. However, their risk for ankle sprain increases if they wear shoes that exaggerate the condition (e.g. supinated shoes). Gait instability is seen more commonly in older individuals or in individuals who are recovering from trauma (e.g. car accident, stroke, etc.).

I walked into the office and was amazed at how sweet and experienced the staff are. And then blown away by how they offered such an ambiance of soft music, the wonderful smell of relaxing movable sand with a metal ball inside the side tables.. flavored water, and coffee. It was walking into a spa. State of the art equipment, then getting into the suite while waiting for the Dr. a nurse puts a real warm wet towel on your feet while I sat in the most cushioned exam chair. I waited for Dr. Tiernan for less than 5 mins which was good because my feet were relaxing in that wonderful towel. Dr. Tiernan was pleasant thorough, I mean thorough ya’ll. He did above and beyond. Dr. Tiernan has put his knowledge, love, thought and care effort into every detail he touches from his spa experience in his office to how he carries himself as Dr and as a person of the community is just simply amazing. He has a store inside that has so many great products from toenail fungus medicine to be used with his nail polish to be while you’re treating it. Very pretty comfortable shoes and sandals! Certified fitter Miss Kim will take great care of you.**** You must see this for yourself*** too much to mention! The treatment is out of this world and you don’t see this kind of sweet treatment anywhere else.

Not normally. Less than 5% of all heel pain patients need surgery and even less actually need the spur removed. It is very, very rare that the spur needs to be addressed with surgery. The spur itself does not usually cause the pain, it the tight plantar fascia that is normally painful.
